Open Source Lube Station
« on: Sat, 19 October 2013, 14:38:50 »
I don't lube my switches since I use Blues, and you don't want to lube them (IMO, you might want to do it, your choice), so it never crossed my mins to make an acrylic lube plate, until I read this thread: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=49883.0.

So I went ahead and made these designs in various sizes (Behemoth, Standard, Mini, Gnome):
39917-0

This can be made in two ways:
1. Single layer with the side tool/spring holders, in 4 extra layers
2. 5 layers, top and bottom layers like a keyboard (Top with proper cutouts and solid base), square style cutouts in the middle layers)
You can also mix layers if you want something in between.
39919-1

ToDo:
- I'm thinking, I'll do one more 18x6 Done
- Some GH branding Done
- Special slots, one on either side to stick one switch tool in each like pitch forks :P Done

I should give reference, thanks to the work of the_beast, jdcarpe, WFD on the old thread, and the Korean geniuses on KBD.

The cutouts are similar to the korean ones, however are slightly different, based on my observations and understandings.

I can make a briefcase? How about a case that has a cover too and you can close it and carry it, but like the Pencil Case I designed for the SmallFry Keyboard

Amazing work. It's too bad I won't have any use for one after selling off my MX gear. :P

Haha, I don't have a use for it too, since I like my switches noisy. But I still made it, so it is your duty to buy one, need or not!

I think it's great, even if I also have no use for it... I like my model Ms, and everything else is MX blues... even the not-yet-fully-assembled ErgoDox

A keyboard dust roof with engraving ;) I even have a mock up for it.  Just don't know if shipping from India would make it too expensive.

Ooh 80g, I want that.  Not to get off topic, but I swapped out most of my blue springs for black springs, though I have more blues that still haven't been modified.  I'd do it all over again to put in 80g springs.

I want one too. I cannot believe I haven't seen this before. I think I would want to get the big one, but it depends on how expensive. I also like the version that only has the extra layers on the sides.

mashby, if you're getting one let's split shipping.

Oh god, this is not an IC :P

I will get a test cut done sometime end of this week or early next week depending on how I squeeze out time. I will then post the DWG files for anyone to play with.

I would love one. Definitely the behemoth, purely because I would prefer to do everything at once (especially after the hell of a time I had last weekend spring swapping, stickering, and lubing my clears.

I, too would love to make one of these. Can't find any files anywhere. It's a shame this post is long dead.
I bought a Razer keyboard and I regret my purchase with every word I type. That’s twenty three regrets just for this signature.
