Btw why a kingsaver?

He probably likes Alps.  ;)  AFAIK, Kingsaver is the most available (maybe the only?) TKL Alps custom board.
Nah there are some korean alps TKLs but in a very low rate compared to the kingsaver

How much does that cost? Can you buy Alps switches alone? Are they expensive? Like you could do for Cherry MX.
The board is worth around $3000 if you can find one and I'm sure the switches are harvested from an old alps board.

There was a load of NIB 2551s found in Europe a while back, I think I bought and sold mine for around €35.

Those 2551HAD were an exceptionally good deal... but I don't think they are currently worth so little in the market, especially outside Germany/EU, since they are far from readily available elsewhere. I would say something like $120-150 is more appropriate.

My SteelSeries 7g is dead, and I assume the only valuable components are the mx black switches.  Would I have desolder those to sell, or is it practical to sell the complete kbd?  Thanks for any advice.

Non functional steelseries, perhaps $30-40 entire thing. Otherwise the used switch alone $30. Sure it's totally dead, as in no power up? Or it just has issues?

It powered up fine until I put it in a box that was a tight squeeze, with the power cord bent sharply to the side to fit.  When I took it out and plugged it in, no power.  I would guess my gorilla-boxing caused something in the cord to internally disconnect.  (Before I killed it, I had the subjective impression that one key was chattering, but no testing I did would confirm that.)

If it's only a bad cable... it might be worth opening it up and replacing it. While the Steelseries isn't too popular on here, if you have it working correctly you may be able to get twice as much on ebay.

A little below GB price is typically fair for lightly used sets.  I'd say maybe $10 less than GB price shipped.  But that's just me.  If there's no noticeable wear, something closer to GB price would also seem fair.

G80-3000HAU... still pretty ordinary assuming standard beige model, but they are getting more scarce since loads of people just steal the caps off them and chuck the rest... I say $70-90 depending on how 'good' is good condition.

I have an original Filco Majestouch 104key with brown switches and N-key rollover (model FKBN104M/EB) which I've had for a few years now. I still have the original box and plastic dust cover for it, red ESC key, USB to PS/2 adapter, original receipt, and anything else that came with it. I bought it from EliteKeyboards.com back when they still sold Filco band keyboards. The keycaps have started to show signs of use, where the coating on the plastic has worn down on a few commonly used keys.

How much do you think I could get for it?

What's a good price for an Alps SKCM Blue board with a standard layout (no bigass enter, no small backspace, honest to god standard layout) these days? I know the Blue Alps are rare, but they are so rare that I actually can't find much info on what they ought to cost.

What's a good price for an Alps SKCM Blue board with a standard layout (no bigass enter, no small backspace, honest to god standard layout) these days? I know the Blue Alps are rare, but they are so rare that I actually can't find much info on what they ought to cost.
Well, considering there's a guy trying to sell a minitouch with blues for $289 I'd say quite a bit
edit: those are montereys. still a good bit though

Humour me here: would you consider $150 reasonable?

Give a model and condition. That could be extremely high or it could be fair.  Some Northgates with Blues sold for around there recently, but anything not as well built or in less than pristine condition should be cheaper.  Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $60-80 for one, but to each their own.

I'll just give the eBay link. I was worried someone would just swoop in and take it, but, eh, whatever.

I must admit that I am quite surprised. Until recently, I did not think that such a thing existed at all, but this may be the second model that we have seen emerge in recent months.

Personally, my Omnikey 101 with transplanted switches is far superior to this yellowed relic, but for a person without a soldering iron it seems that there really is a way to acquire your unicorn.

Based on appearance and condition, I would say that they are asking way too much, but when you are the only game in town, you make your own rules.
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

What did you pay for your blue switches? I have to agree that this price is too high, but I've just always wanted to try these switches.

Do the HKP Warmasters hold any resale value? I would like to eventually trade/get rid of the Xmas Warmaster I just bought when I'm done with it, but I'm only looking to break even - is that practical?

You will almost likely break even on any keycap as long as you sell it for resale price. Don't be looking to buy caps to just sell them though...

IMO that's the most "fair" assessment, but I've seen them sell/trade at a much higher value, something like ~2-3 times original value.  That said, please sell them at the sale value.   :-X

Hmn, has lot of strange legend... I think if you could fix some of the wrong keys like get a correct numpad enter and find something with right row instead of PAGE DOWN, and something better than those other profile Windows key you stuck in the cursor block... you maybe could get something closer to $100.
