Snagged a Model F XT in pretty much perfect condition with its original box, foam inserts, etc. Looks as if it's never been used. Any ideas?

Sell to me?  :D

But seriously, I've bought one before in decent condition for $80 + shipping. Highest I've seen is ~$100. And really, I'd buy yours!

What's the value of an OTD 356 mini in military? Pics: http://imgur.com/a/vgtVv.

Very very high, but it can vary a huge amount based on how many are looking and how much they are willing to pay

2000-5000 is probably a realistic estimate depending on a number of factors

It is one of the rarest and most sort after boards around and my personal favourite and end game board, I have black minis but the military is the dream

Need a little more than that. :P

The current offer on the table is $2.5k. I can't afford it, but am looking for someone who can.

That's honestly not a bad price, I mean obviously no keyboard is "worth" that, but that is just a unicorn type board, they don't come up and when they do the prices swing a lot, but you are hard pushed to find any v1 mini nowadays for sub 1500, for someone, who is a lot better off than me, that 2500 will be a steal

been a while since i've followed any keyboard-related happenings, wondering what these vintage PBT keycaps and novelty keycaps might go for nowadays.  i posted a classified thread here the other day, but would be interested in some input.  it seems there are a lot of reproductions out there for cherry keycaps now, so i'm sure these have fallen off a bit, just not sure how much.  they are still really nice keycaps, though! i've been using a different colored set of them for four or five years now, they're still wonderful and have held up perfectly. :)

Ducky DK9008 Shine 3 MX Brown (2.5 yrs)

Everything worked fine until I carelessly tried to plug in the mini-USB cable when it was upside down, which pushed the jack into the case.

meh.. it's a pity to program, and poorly implemented.  Just old.

Unfortunately, most 60% cases are extremely ugly, but this still isn't worth the price at all.

Still no clue what your taste is in keyboard design. 356mini isn't that good.... 456gt isn't that good... Most 60% are ugly.... So, what is a 'good' keyboard to you?

I am saying that the price to what you get isn't worth it at all.  The 356 mini is nice and all, but you're really going to pay an extra at least $2000 for a color variant?

Even the 'cheap' ones are priced way too high.  You're getting a case which isn't modular, so you're stuck with how it's built.  Uses detachable ps2?  what is this 1990?

Needs an external programmer, and until recently, there were no English guides on how to program it...

I would go after a Duck Poker Case and use a Bface PCB and whatever plate you want.  That would be way more worth your time and still extremely awesome.

456Gt... you were considering 'fixing' up one, no one would buy that from you even if it was fixed since you'd have to have it milled back down or just spend way too much to get it to new quality.  you could get an undamaged one for less.

Even if you got an undamaged one, it's still too high of an angle, and has all the other programming issues of the mini. Another thing for doom2, if you can afford the 356mini, you might as well design your own board if you've got the skills.

Ducky DK9008 Shine 3 MX Brown (2.5 yrs)

Everything worked fine until I carelessly tried to plug in the mini-USB cable when it was upside down, which pushed the jack into the case.

No one answered, so I had to (ugh) take it apart until I could see if the internal disconnect was serious or easily fixed. The USB "socket" (or whatever the correct term is for the female end) was held in place by 4 tiny posts, one of which had snapped off. It's now back in place (3 posts + 2 strips of scotch tape). The keyboard works again, and the USB port doesn't appear to move when I connect/disconnect the cable multiple times, but I don't have a lot of confidence in the permanence of this "fix."

I'm still interested in opinions about a fair asking price for this keyboard.

I'd very much like to switch to an MX Clear board. Btw, is it impossible to get a Ducky with MX Clear switches now? I've seen a few in the past, but nothing in the last half year to year.

Would be quite little maybe less than you would get desoldering the switches $50 or so

eBay you should find some MX clear.options.i would consider Leopold and filco as well

I've never touched a soldering gun, so I fear I'd damage something.

Had a WASD MX Clear keyboard briefly. It was functionally perfect, but the horizontal seam in the case drove me nuts for aesthetic reasons. I'm considering the Leopold FC980C (topre switches), but I'd like to be able to use my og Cherry double shot keycaps. A Novatouch I tried out felt pretty good, so I imagine that Leopold would be fine, too. I need something with a numpad, so that eliminates most current MX Clear boards.

Wasd is a bit taller but ducky and filco seem very similar and it's not worth novatouching Leopold is best stock just opening changed it irreversibly as the case never fits the same when you close it. I'd say a filco is your best bet if you want an amazing oem MX clear board

Leopold does, but not full sized. I wish Filco did because I'd buy one instantly.

Is the IKBC/Vortex G104 supposed to be of reasonably good quality? I never heard of it before today.

What's a good price on an LZ-S?

If I recall, less than 30 of these were made. The only price I could find was the sky blue one that cost the owner ~$500 a few years ago.

Note: I don't own the board, someone is offering to sell it to me. Learned my lesson last time with the OTD post.
$600-700 the $500 one I believe was mostly the cost of fixing it

you're asking about a lot of rare stuff here.  Not the best place to ask tbh...  best bet is to pm some big collectors.
So, you? :-P I did pm MrBoonVn.
