Stabilizer Tape?
« on: Thu, 25 April 2013, 09:46:05 »
I was looking at the 356mini Build on Deskthority again and I noticed that the builder used some sort of 3M tape under the PCB mounted stabilizers (photo).

I'm guessing it's to keep the stabilizers from marring the surface of the PCB, but has anyone else seen this before, or done this themselves? More importantly, what kind of tape is this?

Its standard paper medical tape. I think it may be to quiet the stabs a little...key them from clicking against the pcb.

Well the one specifically in that picture is the micropore medical tape. But I read you can use Teflon too.

OK, in looking at one of the images more closely and finding this MAGICAL tool called Google, I found it. It's 3M Micropore Tape in Tan. It's medical tape.

Anyone ever use this before?

Entering "3M Micropore tape tan" as a search term brings up a lot of links to medical tape.
