Is anyone else getting the tracking and insurance options? Can someone with more experience with 7bits GB's let me know if they would recommend it? For me, it's an additional $58 for insurance and tracking. Worth it? We're talking about two pounds worth of keycaps.

i am not getting it. i have a set of his Round 4 SA/SPH Space Cadet keycaps too.  I am getting quite a few caps on this buy too and skipping all that extra expense.

Even if you leave 7-bit out of the equation: You got an order of probably about $200-$250 and you think about spending $58 for insurance? If I calculate right, there would have to be a probability of about 1/4 of your parcel getting lost for that to be worth it. I don't think the risk is anywhere near that.

I'm into Round 5 for almost $400 -- I'm just very, very leery of putting any more money into it. It would make tsk-tsk-ing my wife about her purse collection completely untenable. Your opinions have settled it -- I'm fine with regular postage. Thanks for the input.

I just didn't want to be that lone guy without insurance or tracking.

Due to the success of R4, 7bit has redeemed himself enough for me to take a chance of finally getting some Dvorak spherical doubleshots. I can't wait!

Me too!  I love the fact that we could mix n match everything and create our own setups.  Must be an organizational nightmare, haha.

And yes, I've never tried SA profile and am looking forward to it.  In the worst case that I don't like SA, I'm gonna just put a keyboard on a shelf or wall for display since the keys will still look beautiful!

i just went full plain ole HONEY (white/grey) Ten key configuration with HHKB and ErgoDox add on kits. I was tempted to try different combinations with red and black and grey but i'd just be further putting myself into debt.

Haha, it was just too tempting to keep adding more sets.  I had to refrain from browsing the R5 wiki after making my initial selections.

Yep looks like a Honeywell already (with a tiny bit of IBM).

Can't wait to get all mine coming through, I think I'll need some extra keyboards here, which is getting harder to find any spare willing to take these beauties.

"Leftovers" in this case means things which are scheduled to be made but have not been produced or claimed yet.

I understand the concept, but that does not answer the question.

Are you saying that all the 'leftovers' have to be claimed before it goes into production. I hope not...

Leftovers are often available after the sets are shipping (in other GBs).

Is there anything holding this up from going into production? Has it already started being produced?

ahhh. i figured he just ordered a bunch of extra kits to meet MOQ and hopes to sell the pieces as the sets are shipped out.  i guess i was wrong. wouldnt be the first time.

No, I think you are exactly right.  The order has been placed, and the numbers of each kit that will be produced are fixed.  But he is preselling the extras that he added to round up to MOQ and whatever other balancing he has done.

I just enter the figures from SP and a little script does the rest. If Melissa would send them as plain ASCII instead of a PDF-file, I could just feed the text list into it and had an even easier job.

the use of the bot is one of the reasons i think he is 'the man'.  that was the coolest group buy order process i have seen yet. and that wiki?!  good god that had a lot of info. that wiki had me entertained for days as i tried to come up with which combos to order.

Current daily drivers : HHKB Pro 2, HHKB Lite in a server rack, A few Filco numpads in brown and blue, Pure Pro in Brown with Rainbow PBT, CM Ninja in Brown with white engaved PBTs, two Model Ms 89 and 91 with a few red esc, Ergodox full in clear with blanks, a jdcarpe built 40% awaiting some Round 6 keycaps, and soon a Gon custom.  Hundreds more on site at a mechanical friendly work site where I am the purchaser.  If it exists, I probably have used one!
