ORI No.2

GENESIS

1.INSPIRATION
ORI GENESIS having been inspired by the design of the HHKB PRO HG, which is one of the most impressive I've ever seen, its impact is not trivial to the entire current keyboard design.
And that motivates me to make a design based on its impressive features, but at the same time will bring in the breath of ORI design.

2. THE "GENESIS"- https://www.ori-club.com/genesis
After completing my first groupbuy with the scheduled time (2 months). It marked something very meaningful to me, and this will be a design that transcends its own claim, it is a new start.
In order to do that, I will have to learn a lot from the previous buy group ORI 87. And especially my production has a lot of unnecessary problems, and this time I will try to do better. .

3. What's different?
In a conventional seam-less design, you would use a screw to catch it from above, through the PCB. But this time, ORI GENESIS will be completely assembled without that.

4. Why alice layout?
Perfect twin balance layout!!

12 assembly parts

8° typing angle

Polycarbonate case

Polished or sandblasted accent options

Standard plate is aluminum, sandblasted brass available as add-ons

Colour Anodize: Black/ Silver/ Burgundy

Isolated gasket sandwich mount

Flex-cut plate

Limited 50/50 piece

Final Prototype finished after many edits. Sound test will be completed as soon as possible.

They're not feet. Those are there for support/gasket placement underneath the plate.

Stunning design! Could we see pictures of the flex cuts? If you want feedback, I don't personnally think having the aluminum plate as the standard choice with brass as add-on is the way to go. I would prefer to have the option of choosing only one plate, and paying extra if I want brass, instead of paying for the redundant aluminum plate and the brass plate I would use if I got this board. A polycarbonate plate option would be very nice, especially since the board is already PC, as well as stuff like FR4 and 5mm options for Brass, polycarb, and FR4 though I understand it would make the logistics of the GB much more complex, so I understand why FR4 and 5mm options may not be possible.

I am also thinking about this problem, actually the problem is that with poly I cannot use wire edm. And so we won't be able to get a clean logo that requires passing a badge.
If it were the aluminum version, it would probably be identical to the ORI CLS-1

also agree on the smaller logo. i loved it on the cls-1. i think someone brought it up on discord that i like: badge is underneath the PC so it's see thru? or even with LED pcb that lights thru?

I will study the logo placement again.

Maybe Genesis will pause for a while because the temporary resources for Genesis are too large for the scale of the ORI-CLUB.

After a while of research and experimentation, I'm back with raw prototype ORI GENESIS

A lot of crazy stuff was used in this design, it took me a long time to prototype, failing again and again. But this time, everything was smooth.
