[IC]Tyche75|Bluetooth Hot Swap
« on: Tue, 26 October 2021, 07:07:15 »

:)Hello, World
I'm Chaucer.
This is my first post
It's a long, long story
I can't say exactly what I do for a living
Designer? Dreamer?
I do a lot of things.
I've met a lot of people.
Good or bad
That's life, isn't it?
Anyway
One day, I suddenly wanted to draw
So I drew

I call it Tyche
Tyche (Τuχη, Greek for "chance", "luck") is the goddess of destiny
It brings good luck and bad luck

I made this picture by means of PCB
I never thought that the combination of art and technology would be so interesting

I use 3MM thick PCB to make
The surface uses gold plating to present its color

Then I thought why not do something more interesting
Right?
And then!

I want to be simple and simple again

Its two sides are perfectly horizontal
This is a perfect angle

Its two sides are perfectly horizontal
This is a perfect angle

Invisible design

blend into one

This is Tyhce75

Basic Info.

- Layout. 75%
- Color: Aluminum with anti-oxidation surface treatment
- Material. Top and bottom case aluminum, logo is Brass
- Degree: 7°.
- Structure: no plate spring washers
- PCB: Hot-swap and C-type PCB (including LED part)
- Plates:1.5mm PC
- Weight: Nickel-cobalt alloy
- Logo:Brass
- Spacer: 3mm poron
- Will use Type-C
- Supports Bluetooth

Finally
If you like the design
or want to know more information
please leave a comment and let me know
I've finished the assembly test
I will do more testing next
The website is currently in production

Finally, this is Chaucer
Wish me luck
Tyche blessing

;)

I am both interested and cautious. Why the choice of no additional colors (I agree with just the aluminum btw, it looks amazing)? Why a PC plate (I'd much prefer aluminum or FR4)?

I'm not going to allow myself to hope for this until I actually see a manufactured prototype, but regardless this looks really cool. Good design.

Because of the Bluetooth problem, only the PC and R24 can not block the signal. The first trial installation of aluminum will cause the signal to become weak

I like how simple and clean it is, more colour options would be nice though but I'd still consider getting if it was only white.

I am still preparing the stock stage, in addition to the current color is still debugging other colors.

Major interest here. Made this account just to say so!

Very curious about customizable LED display you mentioned & also if qmk + via will be supported.

Agree more color choices would be nice 👍

I would LOVE to have a rotary encoder on the left side. Especially w/ qmk support. I think it would open up all sorts of awesome possibilities for moving through different macros that could control volume, screen brightness, undo/redo, all sorts of possibilities! Could this then be integrated w/ your LED display 🤯 !!!??!!!

I'm getting too excited. How close is this kb & do we have rough idea of cost? Thank you!

I will most likely join this board anyway.
But would you consider to add split backspace as an option maybe? or even make solder PCB to support multiple layout.

I tried to add the knob scheme, but this version of the design is not very suitable, QMK + VIA scheme certainly support. I am currently testing the production cost, the first time I post nothing experienced, I will send detailed information up again when the official product, thanks for your support!

I currently use a hot-swappable solution and use a high-quality shaft bottom that supports 10,000 insertions and removals.

Thank you for reply.
But durability wasn't my concern. I am just a lover of split backspace ant most of the time hot-swappable PCB doesn't support that.

Roger, I'll consider whether to add a solder PCB version

Great looking board. Will it be ANSI only, or will you consider making an ISO version?

This is one of those designs that gives me lot's of cautionary hope for its completion. It's very pretty looking and easy to imagine on my desk. There is no real interest check or proto images. add those things and I would be 100% on board.

I think this is a good starting point, but I also notice this is a common design shared with current GB/IC boards like the Trio and Paragon. I have some suggestions for next steps, improvements, and clarification:

- prototype prototype prototype with lots of pictures under different lighting conditions
- do away with the unattractive front logo, or at least option to build without impacting aesthetics
- run a color options survey to collect feedback on preferred colors (Include Navy blue, gunmetal gray please)
- plate options - as other have said above, please add additional plate material. (Please add carbon fiber plate as an option)
- Please clarify - what is the mount method? gasket? sandwich? top mount? Renders look like gasket, but please be explicit
- Cost - please share cost as soon as it's available; ideally much less than what Trio cost
- Develop and communicate overall GB project plan and schedule
- Commit to regular communication on the project during GB - updates on progress every 2 weeks ideal

Can't think of anything else now but i'm sure there'll be others. Looking forward to how this evolves.

Interested.

I've been looking for another compact 75% that has all the editing keys instead of just two or three or missing one. I also like how you have given the function keys their traditional spacing. One thing I am a little bit disappointed with is that there doesn't seem to be a key that can be dedicated for switching layers without sacrificing an existing key. I suppose I don't use my right control or alt very often...

Wish you the best on your journey and am looking forward to future updates!

Please be careful to choose this keyboard since the IC stage in China is not that good.

hi pls do be extra cautious of this ic, he has been red flagged in china because he has no prototype and only pictures, but has alrdy started a preorder and collecting fixed deposits. i would strongly advice against joining this board
