Hey everyone, just wanted to share where we started off with the novelties.

Gen1: GMK tooling wasnt considered when making the design

Are the MTG novelties locked in at this point or are they still undergoing design changes? I know it was discussed earlier but the 5 mana symbols are really just not very clean designs (especially compared to the cleaned up/simplified Accel World novelties) and the tap symbols are the wrong orientation. I'm not sure if it's too late to try to recruit some artistic folks to help out but I think the mana novelties could use some work.

Even if they don't get touched I still plan on buying the novelties kit just for the Black Lotus caps. That design is perfect as-is IMO

Really getting frustrated with the MTG novelties, I cant seem to get fresh ideas.

I propose to run a contest and whoever submits the best novelty designs will be chosen to be part of the kit.

Rules (tentative):
1. Designs must be referenced from Magic The Gathering without actually copying any symbols/logos/art that is licensed by the franchise.
2. They should be a 5 symbols/icons/text R1 set of novelty caps.
3. Key and symbol/icon/text color would be black and lilac respectively. (please see novelties for reference)
3. They must pass GMK tooling requirements.
4. Most votes win

Im weighing the importance of a stepped capslock (symbol) vs a dedicated "control" 1.75 key. I personally think the current setup is workable even for HHKB users.

Seconded. I'm normally an advocate for a 1.75u control but imo it just looks weird with icon mods. A stepped and normal caps would work just fine.

Im not sure that adding a single key would make it that much more expensive.

We did a test recently with a full GMK set. With ISO UK (145 keys total) and without (136 keys total). GMK Came back with a 4 euro difference. That was at an MOQ of 150...

Im not killing the idea, im just saying the monochrome kit I have presented is already quite extensive. I dont have actual figures from GMK but I do have target prices on the kits.

Its still on track Im also fine tuning the novelties as we speak. But if there are suggestions that are better, we can still accommodate til the end of the month.

Just got word from TKC that nightrunner got a bit delayed which will also affect the schedule of Black lotus by a few weeks(TBD).

Renders are still on the works but we will ensure they are done properly before we post them in the website
