You guys will be determine what's revo doing next. This is a google form for the poll of the project in the end of this thread. Please vote for your favorite boards.
Now,let's start from 60%
1. One-body 60 case with the new kind of finish on the surface.
This is something that have a pottery coating.As you can see from the picture the color is really bright. This using alu 6063 and it weight around 1.3 kg

2, Code name:Corgi (As factory manger Mr.Lu love dogs,so most of the project code names are dog names).
This is something we have planed over a year now. We have this GB in April 2016 but it never come through.Hopefully it can be done this time. There is only CAD files now.

This one have a very interesting buy before. No buyer know what this board will looks like before shipping it out. So it's called Mytery. This is classic design so maybe some ppl will like it.

I dont have pictures for this one. We had a talk about it to make Dr.D R2. It will have a PC middle layer and a RGB pcb and some changes.

I like the mystery TKL, but i dont like the random element of it. Any chance youd run that - but allowing us to pick colors etc. Random is fine, but i dont think people want to spend hundreds of dollars and end up with a color theyre not excited about.color can be chosen. They just dont know what it looks like.Anyway,if i run it again,there will be nothing mystery about it anymore.

The one-body case support most of the 60 PCBs. I have tried GH60,Bface,Nerd 60. I dont have a zeal but i think it will fit.

Yeah, the pottery coating is quite interesting. I have looked at it a couple of times today on bigger screens than my phone and went back and forth on how much I like it. It's different that's for sure, and generally, different is good. :) I think I really like it, but can also see where it looks a little like plastic.
Do you like the pottery coating compared with anodized, Raymond? Doubt and of us have ever seen a board finished like that.
Also, just my opinion, but the 1800 could use a bit more snazzy weight if that gets run. For some reason that one is a bit less exciting than the Corgi/ Mystery TKL weights.
Overall though, this is really great work. Never seen an IC quite like this. Thank you for bringing so many amazing boards to us super-nerds!! :thumb:

Yes, i can. The pottery coating is micro first then give it a pottery layer. So i can. But i wont bring them at the moment because i can't make them up to my standard.Maybe later ;D ;D ;D

The pure white can be done. Just look at the one-body 60% case. It' will be like that. But that is too white and it's hard to pair keycaps. And it's not anode so maybe i'll have 2 kind of version of it. One using pottery finish,one using normal anode.

Regarding key sets I think it will depend, I think more muted and pastel key sets will look very nice on a white case - for example GMK Muted, 9009, Plum, the upcoming Necro, etc. Also XDA sets like Canvas, Milestone and Evangs' project for 8 Bit XDA might also look very nice. I think darker colours will also fit in some cases, would have to see some renders with some colourful sets on white case!

IMO the Revo logo draws my eye a bit too much due to the rule of thirds. The hefty build quality/anode and beveled edges are enough to distinguish the design. IMO Less is more. Maybe shrink the debossed Revo logo down a bit and place it on the beveled edge.

Yeah, fair enough. The design and quality definitely distinguish this bad boy as you said. The inlaid D on the Dr. was just so well done, I'd vote for that as an option on the Samoyed if the Revo logo stays where it is (it was only optional on Dr. D as well).

I definitely don't want ANY acrylic on high end boards, so it being an add-on sounds perfect, I for one won't add it on =p
With regards to inlaid logo, like on Mekanisk? A weight design improvement does sound great, just keep it large for that gucci effect.

Personally i dont use any leds. And every design have no acrylic layer in the first place. But i will add a removable layer every time people ask for it. Some may love it...Just trying to make everyone happy. Haha ;D ;D ;D

I prefer a much more subtle "Revo" logo, than the flashy one in that image. The makers mark should definitely be on there, but cyan and screaming can be a tad bit much =p

There's not really a downside to switch top removable or problems I can think of, I won't purchase a board unless the plate allows for switch top opening. I now regret having installed Gateron Browns on my Revo Dr.D but struggle to find a time to desolder 80 of them.Well,it's not hard to support it but we don't like it. Our boards used to be switch top removable but now there's none of them support that. It's just not that good.Have a lot of problems.I guess you have to find time to desolder your Dr.D...Sad...Still the plate is good enough for now. Not likely to make any change.
What is the downside of switch top removable? I can think of wobbling.

Ours will make the switch askew and it won't open easily and it's too hard to put it back inside. Or maybe we couldn't make it right so right now all our design don't support switch top removable. ;D ;D ; Btw, alu plate is soft it could be bend a little if pushed too hard.Not ideal for switch top remove,maybe ss can be better.

Dig this news. I love the look of my Dr. D with gray D inlay logo against the gray case. It's really quite understated and classy.

Very tasteful and unique engraved case edge insert. It looks fantastic :thumb:
(Edit) I wanted to add that the edge insert reminds me of a brass habaki on a katana sword. Very cool :cool:

Some suggestions i got for samoyed.
1,To add an acrylic layer for the underglow. This is something i will do for sure, i'll try to find a way to make it work like RJ. You can have it or not. All depend on how you like it.
2,To do a inlaid REVO logo,like Dr.D This a good idea how do you guys feel about it?
3,Make a better weight. Yes, i am aware that the weight design is very normal.I'll think of something...
4,Make a impact 1800. This maybe another project. Right now i am gonna stuck with Samoyed.
5,White microarc finish on samoyed. Well i can't do a really white micro finish on anything. It's more like a beige to me... So if you guys want a pure white i suggest we do it pottery coating.
Well that's for now. If you still have any suggestion or something you don't like you can post here or pm me or write in the form...I am always open to new ideas.
One thing I would love to see is some backward compatibility. I hope the new Dr.D R2 can have many new stuff on it, while the plate and PCB can be compatible with R1 so I can get a new pcb and switch plate and made some upgrade on the R1

I was very accustomed to the plastic KUL ES-87 ergoclear feel, but now I've got a taste for the KBD75 + lubed linears. The all metal body feels much more premium :)
I can't decide on my next switch though. Very hard.

I think a nice light green would also be pretty nice. Something that would go with SA lime or GMK royal alpha.

Some suggestions i got for samoyed.
1,To add an acrylic layer for the underglow. This is something i will do for sure, i'll try to find a way to make it work like RJ. You can have it or not. All depend on how you like it.
2,To do a inlaid REVO logo,like Dr.D This a good idea how do you guys feel about it?
3,Make a better weight. Yes, i am aware that the weight design is very normal.I'll think of something...
4,Make a impact 1800. This maybe another project. Right now i am gonna stuck with Samoyed.
5,White microarc finish on samoyed. Well i can't do a really white micro finish on anything. It's more like a beige to me... So if you guys want a pure white i suggest we do it pottery coating.

It does have a gap in the front relative to the back. When the pcb sets into place with the case/usb port it forces you to have the off alignment with the front and back gaps. I would say that it doesn't look as bad compared to the cheap Aliexpress 60% case because the side gaps are even and reasonably tight (the cheap Alexpress case has uneven mounting and uneven gaps). The difference between the front and back gaps are only noticeable when you look directly down at it from overhead and because it's a higher end case it doesn't seem like a big deal. My IBM model F XT has a huge gap on the left side of the case and I honestly never bothered to try and fix it because the build quality as a whole is so nice that it doesn't seem to detract.

I used a steel plate for this build and don't notice any flex in the middle at all. Not sure about PC or aluminum though.

If it’s only like that in the front it’s not so bad. It was hard to tell with the perspective and shadows.
I hope they do some bright colors next time. I’d love a nice neon pink for laser. Or a lime green.

I only have screws between tab/q and right brace/delete (just put them both in a bit loose and adjust the pcb before tightening down). You don't need all of the screws in for a secure connection.

Same here for my Zeal60 R2, there is some clearance issue around the USB port and also the left most and right most screw do not fit well...

Again, Revo Team and Originative Co lost our boards and they are refusing to give either refunds or a plan for how to handle the situation.
Just a warning for potential Revo GB participants.
Also just wanted to mention that since delays are guaranteed to happen in any GB's here by the time shipping happens it is way too late to open a PayPal dispute if the GB runner loses or sends you a damaged board (several of Revo HHKB's went out with scratches btw).
