What Did I Just Find?
« on: Fri, 25 March 2011, 18:06:01 »
I stumbled across this little oddity at my local thrift shop and figured for a few dollars it was worth it seeing as I could tell it had blacks with double-shots.

The name tag says Link and the sticker on the back has it as a part-no 50-120-000-102. Pics to follow:

Now googling around a bit I see that its some kind of terminal keyboard (obvious by the connector I suppose)  and thats about it.

Anyone ever seen one before or have any idea if it can be converted to PS2/USB? If not, anyone interested in a set of blacks with double-shot caps? :)

In the third picture I can just barely make out the switch to see that it's a cherry. Cool! Can you take a better photo of JUST the switch? What color is it?

Here is a better pic of the switch and the underside of the cap. Clearly Cherry blacks, and I believe the caps are double-shots but someone who knows more than I would have to confirm.

Yep, I'm guessing it's a Wyse Enhanced-PC keyboard (judging from the "WY" and "EPC" on the bottom)  :)

Any hopes of converting it to anything besides a terminal keyboard or is it pretty much worth its weight in switches and caps?

Edit: I think I actually found its long lost terminal lover! http://link.vecmar.com/products/productpage.asp?pid=805-Link_MC80

It has officially been handed down to my engineer roommate. I will have him post his results if he can get it working. It looks like you can pick these up as refurbs for $30-40 which seems like a steal if the conversion isn't too difficult.
