I didn't clean this at all — this is how the SM9 showed up at my house (two days after I paid for it). It was either loved or refurbished or both prior to my buying it for $17 + $20 for shipping.

I'm so happy with this eBay purchase I can't contain myself.

Thats a pretty awesome looking typewriter. It looks so complicated : )

Nice shots, nice typewriter. The camera quite obviously couldn't handle the dynamic range though (heavy purple fringing, high black level; it be said that scenes with shiny metal parts tend to be demanding, but this must be quite a small sensor), not to mention the so-so lens.

I think a classic SLR with some decent matching "glass" would go well with a typewriter obsession, stylistically - film and all. Not so sure about affordable macro lenses though, this really is an area where digicams with their generally smallish sensors tend to be more versatile...
Hardware in signatures clutters Google search results. There should be a field in the profile for that (again).

This message was probably typed on a vintage G80-3000 with blues. Double-shots, baby. :D

The camera is just an off the shelf $130 5 megapixel job we bought at Best Buy 3 years ago. I'm no photographer, and neither is my wife, so that is what we bought.

And you are right about the classic camera, but honestly it would be wasted on me by having only pictures of the baby, the cats, keyboards and typewriters taken with it.

Are you big into cameras? A photographer?

Nice.  That Olympia brings back memories.  I composed many reports on one of those through junior high school.  It was the same color too.  :)

Big ol bump for an old post.
Just found one of these in town. Going to collect it Wednesday.
Cost £8.
It has some paint splats on it which I'm sure will come off.
These are supposed to be super solid and lovely to type on. Not sure if I intend to keep mine or sell it on.
I have been so lucky with typewriter finds!
