[Tp4 Reviews] Alps (Mouse wheel encoder) Increment Encoder

So many peeps are like.. Hai Tp,  is Alps overrated ?,  why not buy dem' clones for $0.10 instead of $0.90 for alps.

Most of the off-brand mice use no-name wheel encoders.

Sometimes that's ok, if the clone is well made.

But when it comes to bottom barrel components.   Some manufacturer will try to save money going down to the 7th decimal place.

The result...  ?

On the left is an alps clone,  Notice the spring steel sandwiched in the middle of the wheel is of poor quality and has Rounded out.

Alps is on the right, all made in china, but the alps will last for years, while the clone has only lasted months.

The alps spring steel is also a hair thicker.. increasing its durability. <this is the 7th digit savings we're talking here>

There are other brand of encoders which are probably well made and durable..

Specific to Alps,  it's got very distinct Notches..  I prefer that over the smoother notched ones.. so there's less confusion.

Interesting that the clones are down even to this minute level.  You always get what you pay for, and you'll pay for it with time or money (or both).
