Got a Wyse keyboard from Snarfangel! Thanks again kind sir! Time to implant these switches into another keyboard  ;D.

You are welcome, and I'm glad it got to you okay -- it's the first time I've sent any package to Canada. :) Nice pictures, and I look forward to seeing your project!

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I got my order in from MorbidStix.

It my KUL ES-87 case with a wood grain finish.  I selected Toasted Rosewood, and it came with a nice clear coat on top.  I chose the color which best matched my inspiration photos 1, 2, 3.

The MorbidStix folks were nice.  I requested that the grain go a certain direction, and they were more than happy to do things that way.  I would recommend them if anyone would like to take a shot at hydrodipping their keyboard.

I'm sure some of you lot might be thinking to yourself, "why on earth would someone get woodgrain for something modern, like a new TKL?"  I invite you to feast your eyes on the 1976 Woody

Oh lawd, it looks so sexy.  Nothing says the '70s like a wood paneling veneer to accent all that delicious brown.

Did you use a grip with your g9? If not I can't see that being a comfortable transition.

Swapped grips at different times as I was always painting, wearing through, and repainting them. I like the 502 so far except the wheel is a bit greasy from the factory I guess. Gonna put some rubbing alc on it and see if that helps.

What an honor! I would have to take better pics if I get selected.

I wasn't OP on the Reddit thread.  I just thought it would look good with this set so I ordered them to arrive at around the same time.

Edit: The reddit thread referred to.  Always cite your sources kids!

Wow, I just realized the OP on the reddit thread was livingspeedbump, who is currently working on the 1950s-themed Jukebox keyset.

He probably has something similar in mind...

70s all the way!

Reminds me of my first computer - it had plastic "wood" panelling on each end :))

Would love to see how durable this finish is.

Hydrodipping most of the time is very durable, my friend had it done to his engine valve cover and it still looks new 2-3 years later.

I got my hotkey's caps in the mail but I'm 3 hours away from home for work. =(

Not sure yet, I'm going to start investigating in a bit though and complain.... $120 CE, damaged due to the incompetence of a delivery service I didn't choose...
