EDIT: Sorry if that's too off topic.

That is indeed the TWSBI mini.

It's a fine medium nib piston filler.  Great capacity, fine size, posts, and really I would recommend it as a pen for doing workhorse writing.

My tastes have really hit an esoteric path with plunger fillers so I am still a much more avid fan of my VAC 700 if we're just talking TWSBI pens.

People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

I finally have a Topre board to put one on.

It's upsetting that this all takes a relatively long time to bring to you.  I no longer have my wife helping, and I plan to further my interests in this craft.  That being said I dream of a lot of things, and I plan for very short intervals (48 hours at most) with regards to cap making.

In the next 48 hours I do not intend to make any smiling jack molds so that I may cast smiling jack keys.

Heh, well the Binge subforum was created shortly after myself and others suggested it, I figured being picky about the order might have been pushing it. Also the geekhackers subforum is still out of order, so it seemed as though it might not be a priority.

Chronological?  Maybe... looks more alphabetical to me though ;)

I would mount a UV CCFL under my desk above the keyboard tray, and take a dremel to my orbweaver along with a cash deposit for one of those caps.

Story behind these is that I haven't done a metal key in a long while.  I've since revisited my metallurgy and I've been able to get a silver alloy that will not tarnish as much as my original metal keys.

Once these completely harden I will be able to buff the metalish sections of the plastic to a nice shine.

There are also some greenish patina like mica flakes in the gray resin.  This will give it that tinge of filth it needs aside from the mutagen-like fluorescent green highlights to the cap.

Orc trooper didn't quite make it, BUT I'm going to try something on a few busted keycaps.  I'll be filling in voids by hand with epoxy and try and make it decorative.  Maybe gold leaf or some of these mica flakes.  I'm not quite sure.

Party on :)

So much skill involved here. I love this design after the lion.

That reminds me of the nugget Slow-Fi, I love the glitter on the mane.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

It does have a glistening effect in some lights.  The material I use is ground and pigmented mica.  It'll provide better iridescent qualities.
