So... Interesting keys coming out this evening... they'll either all bomb or come out decent.

Wish me luck?

All I can think of is watermelon on the beach.

I'm enjoying working with these bright beach colors. :)  Some don't work so well with the figures, so I'm going to try an alternative approach with Orc and Lion Keyng

I was going to say something about this - orcs are dirty, not shiny green or pink :))  The Keythulus on the other hand look great in these random colours :)

Hopefully tonight's experiments went well, it's a bit late to cross things!

I was keeping an eye on the website just in case a keythulu showed up, but I better get to bed before the wife wakes up and notices I'm still awake at 4:30 in the morning, lol

Yep, I love working with keys to get more depth/texture without taking away from the sculpture.  That's my primary goal.

They look great. I love the pearlescent Lion Keyng V3, it really highlights the mane. Deep Silver and Very Very Sky Blue also give pretty good depth.

The hardest part about getting so detailed with a design is that multi-colors are very hard to pull off tastefully.  I have a few B-stocks that are B-stocks just by virtue of the color combinations.  Both the orc and lion keyng do not take multi color very well.  I'm not saying it's impossible, and in fact I think the idea would be awesome on a larger scale, but I'm afraid of losing detail with such a strong contrast of colors.

I agree, I think in order to pull it off tastefully, it would have to be the white pearly color on top of the black, or at least that's what I imagine would look the best.

These are hardly a black :)  I get what you're saying.  The pearl has a lot of depth that would do well on a dark contrasting background.  I'll give it a shot tonight.

What color are they more like? My viewing options aren't the best right now, is it maybe more like a grey ice color?

This is a VERY VERY VERY VERY saturated color.  The black content is less than 2%.  I've been trying to get a color that reminds me of the deepest part of the cleanest ocean waters.  This is probably the closest I'm going to get without using water clear resins and leaving out any filler.

I'd say my hands were kind to me that evening.  I'll try again, but if I screw up it'll just be a single color.
