Right now:

Already owned: Grid 2, Dirt Rally 4, something else Dirt, Kingdom Come, Tropico 5, Legend of Eisenwald, Ember, Two Worlds 1–2 (serious backlog, yes).

Certain/soon upcoming: Cyberpunk

Potential/distant upcoming: Dragon Age 4, next Mass Effect game, Warcraft 4, any Star Wars RPG that isn't micromonetized by EA, probably next Dirts and Tropicos

Very, very potential: any decent RPG that doesn't follow the current long-term recycling trend of focusing on the occult, souls, or war against magic/magic users. Preferably one that is based on exploration, isn't extremely twitch-intense (I could handle Witcher melee and Mass Effect shooting) and isn't based on repetitive bland low-budget instances (like ME1 random worlds). I know of new Fallouts, but I've lost interest after 3.

I wish Nintendo would bring back the Vaudevillian play ragtime aesthetic from Mario 2 & 3 for a new Mario game. That look and sound were really fun.

[...] I knew it was VR only but wondered where noisy got the impression it was a non-game/side mission length/experience.

Welp, according to the latest Tested video the entire game is approximately 15 hours long, so I suppose it is of the shorter length. That said idk how long the average HL1/2 experience is.

I'm looking forward also to Biomutant and that Iron Harvest alt history/steampunk-y RTS.

I am legitimately looking forward to the Steam release for Dwarf Fortress, it's been a long time coming, and it's probably going to get a lot more people into it.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/975370/Dwarf_Fortress/

I won't pretend it's an easy game to get into, far from it, but it makes for the absolute best stories. I can't wait to see what Steam Mods will do for it, and how much extra attention it's going to get once it releases.

TORCHLIGHT III, BAYBEE! I love me a fun AARPG without all the boggy unnecessary garbage piled on dragging it down (see POE/D3) and Torchlight has always been a franchise that puts fun and game play over unneeded fluff. I've played Grim Dawn to death, it's about time for another mob killing romp.

Never played that game, but just seen trailer, looking nice, colorful graphics.
I may try this out - is is basically Diablo but more colorful?

You can try the Second one,

The upcoming 3rd installment will be, m0ar Stuffs,  but Torchlight 2 is already highly refined in terms of the Diablo Formula, lots of kewl effects.

Sounds good.
I recently bought a add-on to Diablo 3, the one that adds extra characters - played just for few hours and left it.
Maybe it wasn't a good time for hack&slash for me, but liked this kind of games in the past.

this guy sucks at the game, he's not utilizing the dash, grapple, or verticallity of the levels. why do they give preview copies to people who make the game look slower than it actually is?

so it looks like it will be Vulkan based on launch, but RTX and raytrace support coming very soon after launch. Unless things have changed since July

Hrrrrrrm... guess gotta wait to upgrad.. without knowing what it's gonna take ..

Doom 2016 required 1080ti for 4K, and it dropped down to <100fps sometimes.

I don't have a ton of time but I'll try give Final Fantasy 7 Remake a go. I'm nearly relieved it's being released in installments.

The other thing I'm sort of excited about is a new RTS from Chris Taylor, designer of Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander. He's been working on it independently for about 3 years and who knows maybe it'll go into alpha or beta this year.

Recently been replaying and loving Shadow Tactics, so that's just reinforced my excitement for Desperados 3.
Bannerlord is meant to be (finally) coming out this year so will keep an eye on that for sure.

I tried the FF7 remake, the nostalgia is there, but for me, the patience is simply not.  Grinding through stuff immediately reminds the player there are other things that need attending to.

Well I think theey are. It looks good to me, same thing, higher res.
I dont care about those cutscenes, I read about issues they found when got old materials. Missions, maps, units, music - its all there.
Plus I'm so happy they made it all in, main one, red alert and all extensions.
Lots of fun comin in June then:)
I'm excited:)
Do you remember it, tp? I remember, I was 16 when Red Alert came out.. good old times ;D

It doesn't look bad, but I was expecting a bit more detail/ dimensionality to the remastered structures.

Tp4 remems CNC, didn't play much until tiberian sun, was mostly on starcraft.

"Time will tell.. sooner or later.. time will tell" ;)

It doesn't look bad, but I was expecting a bit more detail/ dimensionality to the remastered structures.

Tp4 remems CNC, didn't play much until tiberian sun, was mostly on starcraft.

Ah, I see. Well, I played CNC a lot, not much Starcraft to be honest.
I was huge fan of Settlers.
But CNC was great, then KKnD, there was also some weird RTS called Dark Colony, similar to Starcraft.
Dune 2, then 2000 - also spent 100s of hours playing it. Not to mention Warcraft..

For older peeps like us,  it comes down to the strength of our nostalgia.. In terms of actually getting gud', Starcraft and other RTSes are extremely physically and mentally taxing. It's like playing chess, while running and reading a newspaper aloud.

Yea, Tp4 owns Starcraft Remastered..

Tp4 replayed all the missions,  still fun..  got murdared online,  everyone's so gud'n Tp4 = old.. LOLOL.

Don't buy Warcraft3 Reforged,  blizzard totally bungled that one.. Starcraft Remastered is great though.

There's also The latest craze which is Age of Empire definitive edition.  also top notch remaster.  This one is xpensive though.

If just a few days DOOM Eternal will drop and I'll be able to drown all this negative virus fear hype in bathtubs of demon's blood and guts :D

Early reviews seem very positive saying this is everything good from DOOM 2016 improved in every way.

Nobody has said Cyberpunk 2077? What's wrong with you people?  :))

I'm gutted it got pushed back, it would have been released next Thursday, but I hope the push back means it's the best it can possibly be.

I'm also excited for the CNC remaster. RA - The Aftermath was the first RTS I ever played at about 9 years old, so i'm pretty excited. I did put a lot more time in to RA2 but this will still be great.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

You know I just assumed someone had mentioned it so I didn't. :D But you're right if that hasn't been mentioned that's a big one. Very much looking forward to it.

I've pre-ordered the collectors edition and will be going to my first midnight opening ever if the release day sticks this time. I'm super excited.

I'm really excited for Watchdogs Legion, and equally bummed that it's been pushed back, but I'm hoping it'll be good.

Working in and studying cybersecurity makes me appreciate how 90% of it is fantasy, but I love it all the same.
