Noise. Unfortunately to expose the light of the fireflies, I had to turn up the ISO settings, which causes noise.

This was actually the least noisy of the pics I took, the others were 1000x worse...

If the exif data is correct, I'm a little surprised.  I don't think I've seen ISO 800 photos look that grainy (with the purple), but I suppose I also haven't taken 161 second exposures.      Actually, that's not true at all - I have, but they were on 35mm film so it's a totally different world.

^ A few years ago me and my other half went up to a high altitude (on a hill) car park to see if we could spot any fireworks in the distance.

Too many trees around, and too far away from any major celebrations, but there was one firework.

Somehow I actually managed to get a photo of it.

I looked, but I can't find the photo.  The one firework we saw all evening, and I got it!

if I can find the pic, I'll post it.  not quite as dramatic as that one though, we were somewhat further away.

That's pretty cool, you don't see wild hedgehogs here.

Eating at a Chinese restaurant in Richmond, BC. Pretty typical broken English, where it looks like it was just google translated. You can only imagine how poorly the English translated menu was...  )

I got a huge kick out of English translations when I was in China.   :))   Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate that they even bother, but it is still funny.
