Unfixable Stabilizer Housing tick
« on: Tue, 24 May 2022, 13:11:58 »
No matter what i try to do, the slider always slides down the wire and collides with the back of the stabilizer housing, creating a ****ty feeling pre travel, the slider also collides with the housing when i tilt the keycap. I've tried holee modding with band aids, electrical tape, and packaging tape, shrink wrapping the wire, wire balancing, filling the hole with dielectric grease, I've tried putting foam under the spacebar wire, literally everything and absolutely nothing works. And i don't think every one of my keycaps are bent. Soldering the switch at an angle somewhat works but the upstroke is rattly. Using durock v2's.

I mean...it seems like you know the fix...

Get a slightly shorter stab wire. Maybe sand a bit off the ends.

If the wire's hitting the back of the housing, it seems like it isn't the right wire anyways.

what? No the stabilizer slider, the part that attaches to the keycap, hits the housing, not the wire
