Trying to decide how many of these to keep. Going to make PBT RGB sets with 1.25 and 1.5+1x modifiers.

Would that be ABS or PBT eggs?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Guess those clacks are ok too  :p

Out of curiosity how much were the CC's? I want to know a baseline resale price people think is a good deal so I don't get ripped off. Thanks.

If you sell or buy at their retail price which has been between $14-34, roughly, you will not be ripped off. I believe single colors have been $14-24 depending on if it was straight from Clack Factory, or a little more if it was from elitekeyboards. Tri-colors are more in the upper range like $26-34. Obviously anything above retail is profit, and how much you want to profit during resale is up to you.

Lowest I've seen were Phettos few at 50 a few days ago which got snapped up pretty quick.
I picked up some Meth caps off him, expecting them to show up in the next few weeks.

I might be trading come Topres CCs for MX as I only have 1 Topre board and 3 MX ones now...and might sell off bits and peices of the valentines kit I dont see myself using

Think about this then, I'm fairly new into the game, all the CC's I acquired, I paid A LOT more for then what I sold them for.
I was trying to get the prices down on these. Hope more people wont be as greedy and we can still have a nice community atmosphere. :D

I hope so too, I refuse to may more than the community thinks they are worth, and if I am somehow lucky enough to get some, I would resell them for no more than this amount. I am surprised given their popularity they have not just done a huge run and flooded the market making the money for themselves and not he resellers, but I guess they want to keep them limited and special which I understand.

Who's "they"? If you were referring to EK, they do not produce CC's.

We could start a new thread just for this discussion, but the average prices they have been going for lately, i.e. market value, not retail (and charitable sellers notwithstanding) are these:

Solid colors $80-110+
Tri-colors $120-150+
Rare/limited $200-250+

That's what you could expect to pay when buying them at auction or from a seller who paid those prices for them.

If you are patient, people sometimes give them away for free, or sell them at cost. Or sell them at a personal loss, to try and do something nice for someone.

Yeah I have seen most go for that, which I personally would never pay. i guess the only way I will get one is to be very lucky and get one in the lottery, fast enough to grab one cheap, or be given one by a very generous person.

Sadly at this point the only way to get anything but a solid color is to pay far too much, or to trade something hard to find for it.

There are definitely ways to meet demand for people that just want colorful keys on their keyboards, while still also satisfying those who want art on their keyboards. The same methodology of having an original painting and a print could be applied to CC sales by selling original carving caps at a high price, and the reproductions out of molds in higher quantities than at present while at lower prices.

IIRC, the keyblockers set off his OCD, and he doesn't like the 86 key layout as much since DESKO RGB's don't line up with any bottom row 1 unit mods well, since they are a different profile (typically).
