Okay, so every single keycap of the almost 2000 keys has been sorted, packed, and addressed. Everything is ready to go for Monday, and they will ship out then.
I would like to take this post to remind everyone of my policies regarding shipment. I had about 5 or so orders go missing during the last group buy, during which I either sent out replacement caps or refunded, in full, the full ordering and shipping costs to the buyer. Bear in mind that this results in me eating a fairly significant loss, and isn't the normal understanding I have with some of my friends. That would be where both parties split the loss because the fault is with the carrier, and not with either the recipient or the seller. Insurance and tracking were not offered in this group buy and are not likely to be offered in any other, especially with international, as the rates skyrocket if those are included. It is also a nightmare to try and keep track of 100+ tracking numbers. This is especially disconcerting considering that the top 4 orders are all international, and all around 100 bucks. So fingers crossed guys, and if insurance isn't much more I'm just going to include it on them, but last time I checked it changed the rate from $15 to $40.
If there are lost shipments, I will issue a refund in most circumstances, once a more than reasonable amount of time has passed for the keys to arrive. I recently received a few Team Liquid keycaps after over 2.5 months had passed since initial shipment. I do have leftover Nyanspace and triforce keys of both sizes, but 0, and I do mean 0 rainbow keys left. That means that if your Nyanset got lost in the mail, all I can offer you to replace it is the backspace key + a partial refund. Do not expect me to give you a full refund and compensate you with some free keys or some ****, and don't accuse me of failing to ship them, it is very insulting and I'm getting tired of taking pictures of my 16 ft receipt.
As for damaged keys, I inspected the keys as best I could prior to shipping them (especially Ripsters) to ensure that they were in great shape. If you have a damaged key I will not be replacing it for free. If you really want another one, and you really think for some reason that I am responsible for USPS ****ing up your ****, then if you're willing to pay shipping and the original group buy cost of the key I will send you another one. That means I lose out on whatever profit I might have gotten from selling that key, and you have to pay a few more bucks. Seems fair to me. That said, I had 0 people tell me that their keys were significantly damaged. Bubble mailers may seem more vulnerable, but keycaps are really pretty strong if you think about it. I've stepped on one before and you couldn't tell.
Anyways, I hope that sounds reasonable to everyone. That is basically a more detailed explanation of the policy stated in the OP, and what I have followed thus far in dealing with lost shipments. However this policy is dependent on everyone out there having some integrity because if I wind up with a bunch of people claiming that their packages never got there, and they actually did, I'm going to end up unable to do this anymore because I end up losing money or I have to start charging shipping rates that include tracking and insurance... something that will likely kill future group buys anyways.
TL;DR: I'm not going to screw you, so don't screw me. We're all friends here, but almost all of us are guys, so any screwing isn't exactly pretty. USPS sucks, but it is the only viable option we have.
