Well, any news?   :D

Sorry for the delay. I am going to do a limited SA buy (maybe DCS if there is enough interest), but I am still finalizing the details. Planning on all one set (likely the HJKL, caps-replacement, and R1-1u keys), a tiered pricing structure, with early purchasers getting a lower price, and 200 orders max. I will send out final details on my mailing list (sign ups at vimcaps.com).
Amazing! Any color options?

Good news indeed! I just signed up for the mailing list. I missed out on the first run of SA so I'm excited to get another chance at it.

Aw man, and here I was just thinking about how awesome a set of SA Vimcaps would be for SA Oblivion when it finally drops and ships. Already got in on the gmk vimcaps group buy (pairing up with GMK Originative on an Ultimate Hacking Keyboard). Can't wait!

Just got the e-mail.

Let me be the first to say, I've been waiting a long time for these to come back. Now that I know they will be making a comeback, I am absolutely ecstatic.

All aboard the hype train!

Same! This is fantastic! I missed the SA Vimcaps that showed up on mechmarket the other day. And some dude was trying to sell a vimcaps lock for like $70. The timing for this couldn't be better, and November is a heck of a lot sooner than I would have expected given SP's queue.

If this round is successful, then I will run one for DSA. I am optimistic at this point.

Spring 2017 SA Vimcaps Sale
« Reply #66 on: Sat, 03 June 2017, 22:54:32 »
Hello all,

My limited Vimcaps round is now fully live. The short version is:

  • SA only
  • Shipping in November
  • 200 orders max (about 130 remain)
  • $16 (shipping included, with $2.50 added to ship outside the US)

For more details and to buy, please visit vimcaps.com.

Thank you for your support.

-potatowire

PS I'm calling the round a "Spring" sale, because I planned it in the Spring. My mailing list had access to it at the very end of Spring, at least.

Do you know what VIM Editor is? If not, never mind, these key caps are specialized ones, for the use of those VIM users and VIM like navigation on some other editors that support it.

If you need a programming multi-platform text editor and you are able to endure its learning curve, VIM is a great choice.

Heh, I also have his book ("Practical Vim"), great one :)

I confess, lately I've been using Emacs (with the "evil-mode" Vim emulation package) - so, for me, an Emacs logo keycap wouldn't be a bad idea ...

SA Carbon Vim Keycaps
« Reply #77 on: Mon, 26 June 2017, 13:09:13 »
Hello again,

I am launching an experiment in new Vimcaps colors, starting with SA Carbon. The set will look like this:

Orders (2 sets maximum per individual) are $17, with $2.50 added to orders shipped outside the US. They will ship in March 2018, when SA Carbon is expected.

Orders can be placed on my site.

Thank you!

Not at this time. I try to keep it pretty simple, which currently means just Vim-related keycaps.

Why not some L9, CC and CR based VIM key-caps?, jut to go with classic OG Cherry and the contemporary GMK replicas made, even with the popular ePBT? You may consider alternate legend colors as well, that make these not just place holders but also nice "artisan" key caps.

I'm sorry, but you lost me a little bit in some of the lingo. Regarding Cherry/GMK/ePBT and similar Cherry replicas, I just don't have the contacts. I like the idea of alternate legend colors, but the market is small, so I would be playing a bit of an inventory management game. That gets capital-intensive pretty quickly.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback.
