best match mouse for HHKB
« on: Tue, 24 February 2015, 15:26:10 »
Given all the aesthetic attention we pay to our keyboards, I'm curious if anybody has found a mouse that feels like a good companion for a HHKB. Before you post some great gaming mouse or whatever big fat Logitech is out there, I'm specifically looking for somethat that "goes with" HHKB:

- tactile quality (we spend hours on here debating different kinds of keyboard switches, so you know what I mean)
- simplicity (don't need more than a couple buttons and a scroll wheel, but done well)
- reliability/build quality (again, look at the duty cycle of these keyboards)
- aesthetics (simplicity -- nothing that screams "video games!")

thanks!

So I had to RMA my Zowie EC2 eVo and they gave me this Zowie EC2-A, I love it.

zowie ec2/a

the click is GREAT. it has such a nice satisfying click that my DA/g9x didn't have. it's simple, dont need any programs running. the ec1/2-a version has better coating than the ec2. doesn't scream "gaming".. the scroll wheel lights up to indicate at what DPI setting it's at.

i've had mine for 3 days, and it's awesome so far. epzy loves his (he's the reason i got mine, recommended it and he broke my DA by cursing it)
No, he’s not around. How that sound to ya? Jot it down.

I love my CST L-Trac and it looks pretty classy next to my HHKB. However if you have small hands it may be too large, it fits my hands perfectly and I wear a large/xl size glove.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

Gonna have to reiterate what's already been posted.

For a white hhkb the Zowie EC* series, camade etc.

For a black hhkb the Zowie EC*, DA Black, CST l-track & WMO all look great.

Deathadder Black Edition, it has a matte graphite-gray tone similar to the dark HHKB Pro2.

If you have a beige hhkb I have always wondered whether the beige CST trackballs would match.

It wont't and they don't have white buttons, only a white body. (I've contacted their support with this query :)))

Yeah, ok. I have a grey-white HHKB and a white Zowie EC2 mouse an I think that the white EC2 mouse is too glossy white to be a perfect match.

It's ok though my life won't end because my keyboard does not match my mouse ;)

Easy solution. Sand your mouse down.  :))

On a somewhat related note, do you want to use the built-in USB hub? It can supply only very limited power, and I don't have a Pro 2 at hand, but the holes around the ports are too small for some connectors (e.g., Kensington Slimblade) in my Lite 2.

For me, the CST LaserTrac looks great with the HHKB (in black, that is).

If the corsair m45 wasn't so ****ing ugly it would be the perfect mouse.

Too bad its really really ugly.
