Help me decide what color(s) to dye my alps keycaps

I'm finishing up my work on my Apple M0116 and I want to dye the keycaps. For the life of me I can't decide what color(s) I want to dye them 

I'd love to hear suggestions from you guys!

I've got one of those; I did think about dying to to match.

That combination does look great. I was hoping I'd get some advice from you, all of your mods are terrific  :thumb:

Well, so far I've only been able to find the Pagoda Red. At this point, I'm thinking of using a color other then the elephant grey, maybe something like navy? I don't know, I only have one set available to do this with so I want to be sure rather than rushing into it. Thanks for checking up!

If you are using all the keycaps from your M0116 it's hard to do a fair test run... I believe Navy will come out much too dark. I've never tried it myself, but the gray in the caps themselves darken the resulting colour, and there's also some differences how well the dye takes in the PBT. I'd go with some of the dye colours that other people have tried out if you only have one attempt that has to count. I do have half a 4.5g sachet of Elephant Gray I could send to you, like just put it in an envelope, mail it to you and hope the "powder" does not get caught by overzealous customs people while on its way...

Yeah, having only one set of caps is really all that's holding me back. I guess it wouldn't be terribly difficult to get another set or two. How much dye powder did you use? If half a packet is enough, I may have to take you up on your offer with crossed fingers.

I used half the packet (about 2.5 grams of the stuff) in a small pan with water enough to cover the caps and a bit more. Was enough to dye all the mod keys with no problem. Just watch the caps all the way, checking them every minute, so you get the hue you want. PM me your address and we'll give it a try
