I'll  have some for sale in 2-3 weeks assuming everything goes well.  I'm still refining the model and making prototypes right now then I'll be trying out different woods to see what looks best for the features. :D

Are you referring to something like this?

If so I'll try to get my hands on one to base the model on.

I signed up for one of those free web stores. It's pretty cheesy looking but it makes it really easy for me to get my work out there and makes the sales process really simple and straight forward.

You can check it out here www.RamageCaps.com

Got to test out some more inlace acrylester and I'm curios to see what people think! I found a lot of really cool blanks here http://www.woodturningz.com/Inlace_Acrylester_Spindles.html that I think would make awesome key caps.

Feel like that's the perfect word to describe these as they aren't flashy or anything but are still really nice (like the RAMA caps).

Neat.

Finally had some time to work!

Cut a few "Moai" out of African Blackwood, and Curly Maple.  Here's what they look like before I put any finish on them.  They're drying from their first coat of polyurethane right now and boy do they look good after some of that! I'll post more photos when they're all done

Saw these earlier but didn't get time to provide feedback.

Excellent work. Can't believe these are wood. Both have their great little characteristics; the one on the left looks more close to the original source, whereas the one on the right shows the wood more, so that it reminds you of what it's made.

Fantastic work! Very clean.

Thanks Romevi, great feedback. The ebony really matched the feature of the cap, it was exactly what I was looking for.  You can't see it in the photo, but the ebony has a nice stripe of brown grain across the back that reminds you it is indeed organic material. I'll be sure to show that when I take more photos.

Totes gonna try and snag one of the Moai. Is it through your website? Are the caps on top matching Fn caps?
Also, that blank at the very bottom: Is that top spherical?

Great questions! I'll do a 24 Hour sale here in this thread first, anything left will end up on my website.  The top caps are just regular old R4 blanks but that matching Fn cap idea would be awesome, I'll have to try that.

Unfortunately, the Moai were really tricky to pull of consistently because ebony likes to fracture and African black wood likes to break end mills, so out of the 15 I attempted, I only ended up with 9. I'll do a RNG raffle for the Moai and the blanks will be first come first serve.

The bottom right blank was a little experiment I tried to give the cap a unique look.  It's really similar to an alps spherical, but it's really just an OEM profile with bigger corner radiuses.  I'll do some more close ups on it.

Ya! I'll take entries for 24 hours (12 hours seems more reasonable) on the 12th for the Moai, then use an RNG to see who wins.  Everything else will just be first come first serve then after 24 hours I'll put whatever is left on my website

It's something you expect to happen, I definitely plan on ordering a few more after Friday. This particular wood caught me off guard (it's the 7th hardest wood in the world) but I learned from it and adjusted my code so I'm all good  :thumb:
