[IC] ㄹ(LIUL) HAPPY STYLE KEYBOARD
« on: Thu, 15 January 2015, 22:40:08 »
hello i'm lewi and, ready for GB
i'm not good at english, so, if there's something you can't understand the information written below, please reply or pm me.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- MATERIAL
1. wood(walnut)
2. anodized aluminum
3. poly carbonate, or acrylic

if there's demand, all of three material run at the same time

- pcb is based on b face (optional chice)

- cherry mxswitch

- there's two style
hhkb style
poker style

maybe there's no carving seal and plate at poker style

- top, plate, and middle all in one style
plate is 4mm thickness(you can see structure of plate at below image)

- left and right side's aluminum plate(yellow one in the picture) are for hiding bolting hole,
there's two choice when you assemble keyboard.

1. if you bolting plate and top body, you can't bolting two of total 9 bolting hole to bottom body. (but there's no problem)
2. if you bolting top and bottom body, you have to fix plate with like double sided tape.
it's because i don't want to bolting hole out side of appearance.

actually, i recommend 1 :)

- Reaching MOQ 10
Acrylic(Polycarbonate): 235$
Aluminum: 269$
Wood(with no finishing): 254$

For every additional 20 (30,50) orders on top of the MOQ the price will decrease by 15.5$

pcb : around 30-35$

ㄹ is 'liul'
it's a consonant of korean language,
and tentative title.

thankyou :)

Definitely in for a wood case.  How much do you think the optional PCB would be?  And would there be an option for full assembly?

I'm interested in the alu ver as well as the wood ver in HHKB layout.
What colors will be available for the alu ver?
Is there any chance we can get the finish on the wood ver to protect the surface? I would like to grap the wood ver to carry around since it would be much lighter that the alu ver, but I'm afraid of damage the surface.  :(

aluminum anodize color is not determined.
but, now i want to go with silver, titan, light gray these three colors.
and maybe, wood finishing will be optional. but, i think varnishing will be not so strong to protect many kind of damage.

Titan and light grey sound perfect to me, have been looking for something like titan color of the KMAC on the HHKB form. :thumb:
I think it would be better to get the wood surface varnished, at least we got something to protect the wood against the scratches, wet, etc.

If there is full assembly option, can I just get the diodes and resistors pre-soldered? I already got LEDs and turned switches.
About the alu plate to cover the bolting holes, would it be an option about their color? If so, I think the alu plate in red would go perfectly with the titan color housing.
Do you have the estimated time of the GB and delivery? It would be good to know.

I might be in if that's the case.
However I am not sure if I like the asymmetry of the inserts.

I do love the liul engraving!
You can do whatever you want. I think the brass(?) inserts are cool, but I didn't like the placements.

thank you for your interest, guys!
actually, it's placement based on golden ratio.
i love golden ratio. :)

actual sample looks better than render one.
but, i have to think more about design.

i think second one is better than first one.
because of your interest and help, it goes better and better.

if there's some good idea, pleases notice me.
critique is always good to me, and it's funny thing.

and
now i want to change species of wood.
walnut is good wood.
but ebony is much better i think.
how do you think?

now, i find wood(and acrylic) manufacturer now.
but, alu is not yet. as you saw, my keyboard design is not a 2d design.
and difficulty of processing is so high. so, it's too hard to meet that price with small quantity.
please wait some more time. friends.

thankyou :)

Do you have pictures of the sample??  I would love to see it!

I really like the render of the wood design.  I would like to see if it matches with the sample or if it looks different.  :)

Thanks for the work you're putting into this design!  I like it a lot.   :-*

I'm a new in GH.
But, Lewi is a famous Housing Designer in Korea.
I'm sad that his amazing Housing is not popular in GH.
Maybe because he is new in GH like me.
I have one KBD designed by him.
I don't assemble it, but sometimes I put out and look at it.
Always I think it is the most beautiful Housing in the world.

I hope his housing becomes more popular in GH.

I was skeptical about trusting a newcomer here, but I can accept it if you have lots of previous experience. Plus, someone else is vouching for you.

better?

That looks great! Will the backspace be able to support 2x 1u keys or will it only allow for 1x 2u key?

I'm a new in GH.
But, Lewi is a famous Housing Designer in Korea.
I'm sad that his amazing Housing is not popular in GH.
Maybe because he is new in GH like me.
I have one KBD designed by him.
I don't assemble it, but sometimes I put out and look at it.
Always I think it is the most beautiful Housing in the world.

I hope his housing becomes more popular in GH.

I think the renders look great. Do you think you could post pictures of the keyboard housings that you own made by Lewi? It would definitely help us visualize his designs and what sort of quality we can expect :D

2x is possible. :)
and what he said is this one( http://kbdlab.co.kr/index.php?mid=board_Lsno50&search_keyword=돌고래&search_target=title&document_srl=360457 )
but, actually, it's not my design. i'm just give help some.

this GB is second time.
