As much as I want this, reading about the PCB quality (poorly soldered MCU, missing diodes) from the last GB is a bit worrying. Do you know who is making the PCB?

Also worth mentioning: AFL has just been put in the spotlight for reproducing some past boards without permission from the original designer. The fakes were not produced with the same QC as the originals and now there is some rather public anger being directed at him. I have also read on another GB thread that he has said he will quit, so I'm not even sure ALF will continue to operate - I hope they do because I'm in on the G60 GB which is supposed to be machined by them

Hi all, after all the drama going on with Alf, this GB is gonna happen. Since confidence is low for the buy, I decided to take the risk and paid the down payment for only 20 keebs. Colors are as follows:

Black x 13
White x 5
Non-anodized ones for custom cerakote x 2

These will all be R2 ones, so NO custom PCB and fixed layout. Shipping date should be expected in August, while cerakote will take extra time. I will share progress once it started and I will create a quick website for payment.

The whole situation is spicy AF. I'm in the G60 GB and what he did with those boards he made for friends without permission from the designer is really ****ty, but tbh, I just want my G60 and as long as the quality remains, I'm not fussed.

Production should start next week and I was told the boards should be done in a week or two. There are only twenty boards. I am hoping to get cerakote in if there are interest, but it will be more expensive then I thought it would be. Expect the cerakote to cost more than 130. Other than that there will only be black and white, only V2 of F62, and there will be a handling fee of 15 dollars. So far 38 people responded to the IC and it will be first come first served. I asked to get 5 more PCB for past F62 V2 buyers if they want it. After this run, I will be doing an IC for my first ever design. Keep your eyes peeled :)

Yes, you can have the PCB only option. Just pay for it and it will come in a simple protected card box.

Which GB are you referring to? I heard about Alf reproducing certain board that he shouldn't have, but I haven't heard about any incomplete GBs?

The Alf x1.1. speaking to f5runner about it in PM at the moment. It had a lot of delays for such a small GB which is always a risk with any GB so that's fine. It was when it come to replacement brass as most people received it scratched first time, so Alf was sending new ones. I know a couple of people received it but the majority didn't. There's one guy who didn't receive his board at all so feel pretty bad for him. With just me personally I had trouble with the PCB but it was around the time all the news about faking boards was coming out so didn't get a resolution on that, I was happy to pay for another PCB at that point.

Was that run directly by Alf or was a designer the OP? I ask because I'm currently in the G60 GB and PayPal buyer protection runs out in 4 days for me

For G60, it will start shipping before F62, so before end of August as well. It was delayed because CNC programmer made a mistake and the batch has to be redone. Guy lost a good amount of money. Just so you know, I am just helping whenever I can. Not the official mouth piece for them

Yeah I understand entirely. I also know that a bunch of the WKL case tops got messed up. I'm just a little apprehensive since the last GB I joined also had 2 poorly cut plates (luckily I have been refunded for one and a replacement is on the way for the second). After reading about the x1.1 GB I'm a little worried about the after sales care

F5runner has offered to contact Alf on my behalf. I'm also contacting others involved with him on group buys. A manufacturer should not be continuing until previous orders are fulfilled - fact.

Its dishonest and theft of people's money. He should not be getting any more business until current group buys are resolved. Especially when there are other manufacturers now in the market who are doing good work. Why this isn't getting more attention is beyond me. I'm also completely overlooking the fact that he faked boards, like it wasn't bad enough he couldn't fulfill his own designs.
