Recently, we want to do some 60% kit(case, plate and pcb), we decided to remove the wrist part on CRUISER. so we redo the render. From the CRUISER render, if we removed the wrist rest part, it is dc60.
But i respect my audience, yes it is too close and too similar to Fjell, but this is our original work! Our ALF purpose is to do the fantastic keyboard kit and we already done a lot of unique kits, we are not copy other people's ideas or works and clone it. We have brand, it is called ALF.
I will modify the case a bit in the end, but i have to say this is my original works again. The price for this case will be around 80 USD.

There are only so many ways to design a rectangle, as ilouis_07 said. Given the provided renders in his following reply, it looks like the fjell might actually be more of a copy than this ever was.

Its a beautiful design, its no wonder great minds think alike. Given the price and features, this looks like a very innovative product.

We used special CNC blade to shape the fantastic side angle of dc60. Without sandblasting and a anodic oxidation, the prototype already looks super good!

1) We will change our weight design from "DC60" into "ALF".
2) For side cutting, we have designed many different ways but TBH if we don't make prototype out, it is hard to tell. DC60 is not retro style casing, we want to create something more modern and cool. So we will stick to our side cutting design so far. hope you guys support us:)
3) For LED, maybe not for this time.
4) One more thing, we will engrave "DC60 for GeekHack, Designed by ALF" inside casing, maybe on the weight or somewhere:) Heard Massdrop bought GeekHack over, all the best for GeekHack as well as Massdrop.

I took a sneak peak of the grey/green case. Color is spot on. I heard ALF is basically staying at the factory for a week to monitor the anodizing process. Maybe Louis can post a picture soon.

We will run the gb 2 weeks for basic version. The deluxe design almost here, we only changed weight design. But we haven't finished CAD and render yet, also cnc factory tight schedule for mass production, we decided to run the basic version first.some orange samples as well.
Also, ALF prepares nice packaging for all the buyers. Looks nicer and more importantly, make sure there is no damage issues when shipping and bring the best case to all the buyers.

Reasons: fast pace for basic version and due to the tight cnc factory schedule, deluxe may delay a bit(mass production vs make prototype is different). For those ppl who are interested on basic version, they can join the gb firstly.
i will open the gb for basic version soon. Also for deluxe version, we need to redraw the CAD and finish the render first, prototype it out later.

How much does the basic dc60 weigh? Also have you decided a date for the gb?1.2kg per casing itself. I still waiting all the photos from ALF, my idea is to show all the sample pics out first，one color per one photo. Easy to see the real color on keyboard and easy to make choice also:)

Sorry by case mount you meant top mount right? Cause afaik case mount is a general term which includes tray mount as well.

Will there be enough space to integrate a battery should I decide to go with a bluetooth pcb?yes it has reserved 5mm deepness slot for battery. Bluetooth mode works good on DC60 casing(tested, it is perfect). PCB we will provide YD60.

I really want to stick around for the deluxe for that weight but I also don’t want to miss out on the basic if the deluxe doesn’t fit my eyes. 1. Will the IC for the deluxe version come out before the normal one ends
2. Will the deluxe still have a normal top or will it only have the hhkb top
3. Will any brass plate fit in normal version

Me too, but with the 90$ price increase compared to prev GB + shipping to Asia, I can probably buy 2 of the Basic version + 1 Deluxe version.
