Broke the Legs on my Filco
« on: Sun, 20 March 2011, 13:19:26 »
I slammed down on my keyboard and broke the legs that stand it up.  You know the tilt.

Now I need to get a new set of them.  Any idea where I can do that?

On another note, why can't they make then out of metal or something.  I keep breaking these plastic ones.

Sorry hearing that, what do you mean by "slammed", were you mad or did you just fall on it ?

I got mad.  Slammed my fist down on it.  I need to aim for my desk rather than my keyboard.

On my old g15, I taped 2 pens there cause I broke those legs too.

I got my keyboard through Amazon so I sent an email to KeyboardCo

Did you slam on those too?  Perhaps anger management course might be in order before you break any more legs. lol =P

Keep a few cheapo keyboards around and crack them in half over your knee when you get upset.  Much more satisfying and you'll spare your nice equipment.

Where did you buy your board? I lost a riser last year during travel and the store where I bought the keybaord sent me another one. Even nice enough to give it for free. I think Elitekeyboards no longer sell Filco's but they might still have few for "support" purposes.

Funning thing... I found back the riser 6 months later at the bottom of my display box.

Get a Steelseries 6gv2 it doesn't have foldable legs to brake, and has an inclined built.
It is also made to withstand the abuse, but try not to kill someone with it.

Did it owe you money? :P

I never use the legs anyway, feels weird if it's not flat for me.

Go to a hardware store and buy a pack of rubber feet such as the 3M ones. Stack them up where the legs used to be.

I just get frustrated easily.  Which is an issue.

I got it through Keyboard Co via Amazon.  I sent them an email already (I'd call, but I don't want to call England).  Also sent one out to EK.

EDIT: ****, I think my escape key is broken ><

This thread makes me sad. :(

Even when I was playing WC3 semi-pro in college I would make sure I'd go punch a pillow when I got really frustrated losing a tough match. When you can't even channel your anger into saying "maybe I shouldn't punch this $150 keyboard that I love" that's scary.
