Hi everyone,
Glad to join the family! Long time gamer, first time keyboard modder
My first question to you knowledgeable people is......where can I get some custom braided USB cables? Not the usual bunch on eBay, looking for something more fancy

Hi Joey,
Thanks for that and hello to you too
I am keen to get some custom keycaps for my new Coolermaster Rapid I TKL. I had a look at those awesome Bro Caps but it doesn't seem there are any available to buy at the moment?

There are Bro caps sales every now & then, you have to keep your eye out on the artisan forum. Also, there's no guarantee of getting in the sale, it's usually a sale/raffle/random order thing.

Hello and welcome to GH! Here's some places you can get a custom cable;
ZealPC
Mimic
Pexon
BroCaps along with some other artisan services don't make their caps available all the time. They basically do a "lottery" from time to time with usually only 1 run of a color-way. It makes them more valuable and keeps the novelty charm. Basically just follow them and check their sales threads from time to time to see upcoming sales.

Welcome! I'd suggest ZealPC/Pexon, both are reputable. Based on location wise, definitely go with Pexon as he's also located in the UK
Cheers

Welcome to Geekhack!
Seems like your question has been answered, but I'll also mention that the companies noted above also have vendor forums here, in the
artisan services
section. Including
Pexon
.
Keep an eye on those vendor forums and sometimes discounts and/or clearances are announced

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
