Intro!

Hi guys!

A little bit about me, 23 year old from south Orange County, CA. Currently studying electrical engineering at CSULB. I have been wanting to get a mechanical keyboard for the last 9 months but simply never got around to it. Well after i got my tax return I decided to go all out and got a Realforce 87UB EK edition.

So far i absolutely love it but am now so obsessed that I want to build a keyboard collection. Or at the very least start collecting some cool colored keycaps to liven up this black on black theme my PC setup has going on

That's a nice keyboard you got first up - some would say that the only way from there is down, down into Cherry MX land, or ALPS, or even buckling spring.

Unfortunately replacement keycap sets for Topre keyboards are few and far between, although most of the artisans do produce Topre variants of their keycaps :)

Thanks for the warm welcome, and yes I have read that also. But like my post said I am a student and theres no way I can go back to typing on those crap rubber dome keyboards they have in the labs. Since I normally sit in the same lab for hours on end, I think I am going to try and get a 60% with MX browns that I can use as a beater to bring around with me to class. When I'm at school I literally spend all day on a computer and think it may be a sound investment.

As for getting artisan caps, I'm still getting in the know-how of where to look and when to look but I have bookmarked a couple pages and now just got to keep my fingers crossed.

You might try looking for a Poker of some sort - the Pok3r was released recently, that might be the 60% to go for!
