New With Questions
« on: Wed, 03 June 2015, 00:40:30 »
Hi all,

I built my first computer a couple of months ago which resulted in a lot of research into components and, as result, introduced me to mechanical keyboards.  I have since purchased a Pok3r with MX clears and I'm currently planning on building an Ortholinear Keyboards Quark 40% because a Pok3r just isn't small enough ;)

Here's my layout so far, I would love any comments/suggestions anyone might have:

Also, I had a question regarding trouble compiling the firmware to flash to the teensy once it arrives and was wondering where on the forum my question would be best directed.

Thanks!

I like the use of the splitting of the longer shifts!

I'm guessing you have a specific use for the pause button then? xD and 2.75u spacebar would be more difficult to get

Welcome to Geekhack!

Making stuff together would be the best place to ask about flashing firmware.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
