Has anyone tried putting holtites into the pcb? Or does know if these will work:
LED 6-1437514-6
Switch 8134-HC-8P2
I wanna make sure before ordering a bunch.
Would you guys advise against holtites in the first place? And if so why?
i always advise against them, i've had nothing but bad experiences with them, and it's faster to just solder switches in and commit instead of being non-committal
Give that man some info. Why do you think so? Why do you post a comment without content?
I advise against reading Puddsy's posts at this point.
It's easy to say that Holtites are not the best idea once you have tried a few of them at least. With the way they stick out at the bottom of the PCB after insertion, it's more than likely that movement shock, a small push while assembling, and other possibilities would dislodge a Holtite rather easily. It works for some people, but frankly, it's one of those things that wasn't created to be optimal for the PCBs we work with. I tried some on my Zeal60, where they would arguably fit perfectly. They do fit well, but it was far too easy to take them off. With that kind of stability, I would rather commit to a switch choice and simply desolder when the time comes to make a big change.
