How would you guys go about replacing the side LEDs? I never soldered something that small and I don't know what to use. I am afraid that I could melt the LED housing if I do hot air soldering but at the same time it feels like it is too small for regular soldering. :/ Any tips and tricks?

I bought some blue 1210 SMD Leds so that I can replace mine.  I think the hard part will be removing the existing LEDs.  Soldering on the new ones should be pretty painless as long as you're careful.

I don't think anyone here is willing to sell it for  your offer of $275 shipped considering it costs about that much to get it shipped to the participant of the GB. I would recommend the classifieds as that would be the first place a user would be posting or browsing through if they are looking to unload a viper/eagle.

Here is an approximate average of how much users paid for their order total:

Yeah, no one is going to sell theirs at cost. I got my set for $300 from a local GH'er and that was considered really lucky. Mine set is still un-assembled too and I wouldn't even start to think about selling it until someone offered me like $500 haha. VIPERS are AWESOME!!

Yeah. I just wanted to inform him since he offered me 275 for it. I don't think anyone will sell theirs at that price even if our covers shipping since there are others who would pay more or even trade nice bros or clacks to get a viper.

Just quickly skimmed the shipping costs page and didn't see people actually ended up paying more for them. So my bad on that!

It's all good though, decided to buy a nerd pcb+ acrylic housing.

Ahh thank you. Overall when fully built they're about the same price right? I'm guessing probably maybe $350 or a bit more assembled etc. I think both cases are equal in quality, with the eagle case having side LEDs.

Eagle is also re-programmable and allows you to customize the board anyway you want. And the metal case ofc.

EDIT: I guess you meant viper. Yeah the only difference between the two is the layout AFAIK. Just a matter of which you prefer.

Ehh I meant duck poker lol.

Although the differences seem to be pretty much minimal. Externally pretty much only the case. Internally, I don't know. Id need to ask duck or just oogle some info.

Does that include it fully assembled and everything?

I said minimally referring to the external differences numerically. I know the cases are different of course.

Of course not. Only for unassembly kit (case; plate & PCB). Full assembled keyboard around 400$ or more.

Thanks. Im having a problem with the 02d software. It displays the arrow keys as '?'. Is that normal? Also, if you don't mind sharing your hex file, that would help a lot for the mean time :). I'm assuming you are using same layout as the hhkb right?
