I use ForumRunner and Tapatalk (both free versions) and like them both. I read what the paid versions offer, and at some point I may spiff the couple bucks.

Anybody have any thoughts on FREE vs. PAID Tapatalk apps?

If anyone if familiar with the free/paid Forumrunner feel free to throw it out here too.

I use the paid Tapatalk constantly, but I haven't tried the free version so I can't compare.  But on it's own, the paid version is worth more than it costs.

The only meaningful info I found (iPhone) was on iTunes. Just thought I'd throw it out there. Info is power.

the paid tapatalk on ios is greatly improved over the free tapatalk on ios (free is like a full version behind)

I don't know if this has been brought up before, but could we have a larger posting box that scales with our resolution?  Here is what editing my long post in the Classifieds section looks like on a 2560 x 1440-pixel monitor

There's a LOT of wasted space and yet I have to scroll up and down on a very short window to look for various parts in the post for formatting fixes.  Just makes more sense to be able to increase the size of the posting / editing box or make it scale dynamically, if possible.

Grab the little tab in the lower right-hand corner to make it taller.  The width scales to a point and then stops.

Ohhh very nice!  Didn't notice the tiny triangle at the bottom of the posting window (it's tiny at my resolution).

+1

I use Feedly a lot (now that Google Reader est mort...), and constantly find myself trying to use J and K to read forum posts.  Not sure if there are some default navigation keys that I don't know about, but something to toggle to Next Unread, or Next Unread Thread would be lovely.

This isn't so much a feature request as it is a (possibly) fun suggestion.

A site I used to frequent used to have this system whereby you could anonymously message someone. People used to use it to tell people they liked things, or such. I'm sure some used it to say mean things (which, for some reason, I would expect to happen more often here than there, because, well... DRAMA!), but I never heard of things like that.

A thread was also created whereby people would confess things anonymously to others, who would then post the confession in the thread. It was very interesting at times.

I just suggest it because I feel closer to this community than any other I've been a part of, so I wouldn't mind knowing more about everyone.

And that's the fun of it! People wouldn't say certain things face to face, but anonymity adds security, and people can indulge.

If I was getting anonymous PMs, I think they'd just get deleted unread.  Set up a #FML thread in Off Topic where people can post anonymously, if there's enough interest.

On the GH Stats page, there is a list of the top 10 posters by post count.

How about adding a list of the top 10 posters by posting frequency (posts per day)?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Also, can we limit quotes to 2 deep? I think after reading through the thread it's kinda redundant. Plus, seeing this

2 deep is too little, 5 deep is more reasonable, but I would prefer it as it is with no limit.

Rowdy echos this preference - it is rare that quotes go that deep, and half the time when they do it is someone deliberately quoting quotes to get a reaction out of people.

But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Maybe without the halo (which is obvious with Nostalgia).

And maybe unicorn vomit?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
