Easy way to post videos like from youtube, etc like there used to be. The what are you listening to thread was one of my favorites and it is just a broken mess right now, and I have no idea how to post video for SMF forum that works, does a mod package need installed?
Ability to change to your own, or just blank these 'post count titles' I don't like having 'Honk!' under my name. Show the members location for sale/trading purpose make it mandatory and only offer a selection of real countries instead of a text field.

Rather than start cluttering up the avi area, how about extra data on mouseover or similar?

That could work just as well. I might have removed the personal text field and replaced it with location instead if I had any power here. Maybe personal text should be up to mods/admins to give people as rewards, for fun or as punishment.

OK, I added showthread.php glue for starters.  You'll get a 301, which should help the search engines along.

Edit: now have showwiki.php too.  Obviously, it only works for articles that were not part of the actual old wiki (reviews, etc).

Re: favicon.ico.  I noticed that SMF is not adding the correct header for it.  Many browsers will find it anyway if it is there, but Firefox sometimes acts wonky.

Is there any way you would consider not pulling down avatars from URLs? I would love to be able to use a rotating avatar.

What features do people want? The more people we have clamoring for something the better we can prioritize our time.

I one click link at the top of each page, with the other menu items to display your subscribed threads.

no. locally stored avatars are significantly safer in every way. you can consider this an official request for avatar rotation via the server though :)

Location under avatar is a great thing, it's annoying that GH and DT don't have it.

It would also be nice to have a "last page" link under each topic in the main forums so that you can easily jump to the latest post :)

I don't really use mine, so I'll add my location info there.

I'd like to have a way to go to the latest post in a topic by clicking a button or something when you're on the first page of that topic. If that exists, I don't see it.

just tested it in firefox 14.01 macos and it worked there too. it's implemented via a pretty straightforward .onmouseover property in css, so it should be pretty universal. your work firefox may have some bizarre settings though

Not sure if this was mentioned already, but a way to get "notifications" but not through email. Or maybe a way to subscribe to threads, and have a "User CP" type function. New here, but definitely not new to forums ;)

tags/flags/whatever you want to call them.  List them horizontally above the subject column and list them in the forum description.  Make em clickable so they bring you to a page where that's the filter applied to the forum.

The hard part is getting users to assign the right tag to their post.

Hrrm not sure if this deserves its own thread but please de-homophobify the word filter. G a y is not always a slur nor should we treat it as one.

The only other way it could be used to to express a mood of happiness, and unfortunately the slur killed off the proper meaning.
