Title: Wooden keycap?
Post by: Entropia on Thu, 11 May 2017, 16:04:31
What do you think about this? I suppose you have to sand it and paint it. Would the paint be more resistant and durable on a wooden keycap than on a plastic keycap?

It really depends on what wood species it is. I wouldn't think it is a hard wood (like hard maple or oak) because there is not a lot of give for the stem. So I just don't see it staying on very well to the MX switch stem.

If it was something like pine, maybe it would stay on better.

Honestly, I would be interested to try one but if it works well, I probably would want a whole keyset!
