Niche maybe, but overall a very lovely set! Just grabbed the base set a second ago, I was going to get the 40s kit but I realized I don't really have much of any plans of an ortho soon. Look forward to seeing all the images of people rocking this on their keebs and others realizing they missed out!

I'm really surprised how conservative these numbers are. I personally think this is one of the best sets in 2020. Quiet and calm, but beautiful. I bought 2 because i missed out on Firefly lol.

Just updating for those who aren't in discord, still no confirmation from GMK. We are on them daily and weekly and gmk keeps saying they will get to even confirming the kits/colors that I approved... Been half a year now.
So in other words, still no updates.
While we wait, I'll ship out some samples to some people from my discord so that they can take some photos.
Note: This is for fun, don't expect 100% color accurate shots. This is just passing time while we all collectively wait.

Here is the most important image, which shows the alphas in the back, with the 1-4 gradient keys in focus:

Some notes on the images. They were taken with an iPhone XS camera (I know, not the best), natural lighting, no post editing at all. The keyboard in photo is a Blackblue Matrix 1.2OG. The other keycaps are GMK WoB.
Initial thoughts- Color matching looks good, especially on the main alpha colors (pink and deep purple). The 1 key is off from renders, but works quite well in the gradient. I personally don't find this to be an issue because of how it works in the gradient.

Heyo! So GMK still didn't even send me the renders. I hear that they will do so in a few weeks though, but I take this with a grain of salt... Apparently it's up for production soon though! Soon can mean anything though. :D

Other news: I saw what happened with Yugo and the production being delayed because banderole art wasn't sent in. I made sure to send it in so it can't be used as an excuse with rouge! :)

GMK Renders finally came in! and they had issues... so I have sent an update request to GMK now. To my understanding, production should be coming up in a few weeks. Light at the end of the tunnel? Who knows. :D

Another update, "bad news"
So GMK now came back to me, 2-3 render cycles in and over a year after I provided a vector for the novelty 2 <3, and they told me they don't have the mold and to provide a vector (which I of course know since before GB and that's why we sent the vector which they already used for 2 renders to me...)

All we can do is laugh, but we took the opportunity to update the vector traced from the actual 2 <3 key (macsurfy freehanded the render one), so something positive came out from this at least. At the time, I didn't own the actual <3 2 key but have since then bought the g80-1800 board that features it (to my knowledge, 1 of 4 in circulation):

Update:
GMK are having issues sourcing plastic for one specific color; the background to my understanding (they just said blue).
Their supplier has no ETA so they decided to find a secondary supplier which in turn means another resampling for this.
The good news, they've already made a new sample and have sent it to me. I hope it is alright and doesn't need another resample.
When color is confirmed, they'll let me know of a production ETA (I hope). This sucks but it is what it is...

Update:
New sample was received this monday but there was a 'problem' that I had to investigate before posting here (was updating discord realtime).
The color itself is approved, but I noticed that the sides were textured just like the top surface is; usually the sides are blank and have a smooth texture instead of the grainy top surface. This was now on the sides too.

Nevermind the color itself, this is just to highlight the textured sides compared to r1 sample.
I have owned more than 30 GMK/Cherry sets and I have never once noticed this before, so I sent the question back to GMK and asked what this is about. To my understanding, this is due to molds aging and there have already been several sets shipped like this recently. I.e, nothing can be done about this currently from my end (I tried).
Next question was: Ok, will this be consistent across all caps, all sizes? If it's there then at the very least it's important not to have some with blank surfaces and some grainy, and I was informed it is consistent across all caps.
I imagine some will like this while some won't, some will be indifferent about it. But I just wanted to highlight this so you know what to expect from sets being produced now and onwards until GMK decide to retool(?).

Today was a very gray and rainy day in Linköping Sweden so I couldn't view it in natural lighting.
It's not perfect as of right now but I am not dissatisfied. I will report back after I give it some more thoughts.

It’s here, and it’s great! Really pleased with how this set came out. Much like Firefly, Rouge is hard to properly capture on photos and it’s appearance seems to change depending on the lighting, angle and what have you. Of course it doesn’t exactly help that I have no camera skills whatsoever, but I tried!
