Kinesis, swapping @ and " using mapping?
« on: Mon, 28 October 2013, 10:17:12 »

I've been using my Kinesis using the Colemak.com layout installation. But now I have to use PC's where I dont have the ability to install that, so I've started using the hardware remapping instead.

But how do I remap a shifted key? I seem to only be able to map a whole key including the shift. For example I'd like to switch the " and @ around without moving the 2 and '. Is this possible?

Cheers,

You could create macro's.

For example, create a macro for Shift+2 that equals the quote sign ".

1). Press and Hold Progrm & tap F11.
2). Press and Hold Shift, then tap "2" and relaese.
3). Type the Macro (Shift+')
4). Exit by repeating step one.

Now every time you press Shift + 2 you'll get the quote sign.

Thanks Natas, that works great.

Although shouldn't it say 'create a macro for Shift+2 that equals the at sign @.' ?

I knew what you meant though.
