It wasn't wrapped or anything because my friend ran out of wrapping paper haha.

Don't lie, I know you enjoy the quirky juvenile strangeness of my posts ... which I won't make a habit.

Still though on a more serious note, I'm excited to have my first PBT keycaps especially after hearing about them here for so long!

well, i understood everything pretty good, including all of the sexual innuendo, right up until the ruby red grapefruit and the cleaning.  I didn't get that part at all.  Ruby red grapefruit is pretty healthy.  Is it some kind of vitamin C joke?

I was expecting a cherry somewhere, that grapefruit left me somewhat... confused

Finally wrapped up other stuff and started pulling and replacing keycaps.

Man look at all that dust, hair and grime.

Much better now.

Need to transplant some of these (What are these things called?) for the big keys from my second filco.

Let's take it slow.

Taking shape now

Some time later...

Looks really nice. First time I've messed with my keyboard. Matches my mouse.

Kinda matches my desktop too!

That was fast ... I already got this dirty :/

Black shift key that is practically never used remains as the sole survivor on my keyboard.
Stylistic choice.

Cherries are out of season and I was eating a grapefruit so ... yea
Thick or thin pbt?

I'm not actually sure (don't know how to tell the difference yet)
Can you tell based on this?

There's quite a world of difference between these PBT keys and the stock ABS keys.
Touch typing feels much easier with these keys.
Time to start participating in group buys  :blank:

I just moved to the blank variant of these caps, and they're nothing short of glorious. Sometimes I'll just leave my fingers on them and move in small concentric circles. I've become… quite attached.

How are you finding them so far?
I personally liked the Juvenile feel to the post.

It's a very different typing experience and to me reminds me of that old school IBM keyboard feeling. I really love these PBT keycaps and the side "ninja" printed labels.  I'm experiencing that euphoria-like sensation when one first switches to a mechanical keyboard from a rubber dome.

I originally grabbed a Filco Majestouch 2 Ninja for the side printed keys and because I was planning on using the keyboard as it was.
Now that I've started playing around and switching keycaps - I'm thinking down the line I want to grab a tenkeyless and numpad with pbt or pom keycaps (will have to look into this more and try them out).
Since most boards seem to come with ABS keycaps, are there any particular boards geekhackers grab in mind with the intention of changing keycaps OR do most people just change from existing boards?
Are there any recommended boards that already come with great pbt/pom caps?

A lot of people get the QFR with the intention of changing keycaps.  QFR can sometimes be obtained for as little as $60, which usually leaves a reasonable amount of money for a keycap set.

KeyCool 87 comes with reasonable PBT keycaps.  The white version in particular is whiter than white i.e. not an off-white like some keyboards.
