Dunno if you saw yet but I received a Green T1 Skull for MX. Here is a picture of it for you, if you haven't seen it yet. I tried to match it as accurately as possible without it looking like a Toxic or Guac. It's not Toxic bc CC described it as "similar to Toxic".

I was poking around and found this post by CC about Mr. Friday.  So it looks like he sold the last of them during last year's sale.

I wonder if he'll make more Mr. Friday, or maybe something new?  Mr. Pea Soup Green? :)

Yes I think our chances at a Mr. Friday are pretty slim at best (especially a Topre one which I am after). I am just happy I might have a chance at this sale. Can someone confirm that it's normally at 4:20 pm PST ?

Thanks.

Last year there was a Clack Sale on 4/20 at 1620 PST. However it's not been announced so it's just a rumor for now.

It's worth noting that this is the most expensive cap clickclack has ever sold, and that it's "only" a single color skull. I wonder if this is a reaction to the market?

I did not receive one, but heard of the price from someone who did. Perhaps someone who did can confirm, but I believe they were $45.

If so, yes, that is a tad higher than previously.  Perhaps the material?  The colour?  The time to make a small exclusive batch?

They were $40 shipped in the US.  My guess is higher material fees, and hopefully CC needs to raise some money to make more for us? :)

It could be any one of these :). I think the price remains reasonable -- I would immediately purchase any clack for $45 $40 -- but I'm curious about the change nonetheless.

I still refuse to buy one for more than what CC sells them for. Whatever that price may be.

Whatever the reason for the price increase, I hope it leads to more great stuff from CC in the future.

Pretty sure he just charges slightly more for private/secret sales. Either that or he's finally raised his base prices, which is fine with me. We'll find out soon enough when the next 4grabs rolls around.

Can anybody give me the rundown of the 4/20 sale? Will it be skulls or just pot leaves and what do you have to say in the reservation email?!?

u mean the bs ripster made up?
I guess so, if that's what it is. Kind of funny how I only found out about Geekhack from his rantings and ravings about it, but that is besides the point. What will the sale actually be like??

If anything like the last few, it will be speculation, speculation, complaining about the last sale, speculation, then everyone skipping school, work and sleep to send an email within a few milliseconds of a nominated time, then deep joy from the few who got in and despair and whinging from everyone else who didn't.

The Clack Therapy thread is here - bookmark it ahead of time ;)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

cc never said anything about a 420 sale

if he did there would be a massive hype fest in the cc therapy thread

if there is going to be a sale, cc will say so in his sub forum

You can look back at his 4 grabs thread you can see how it works, not sure if he has any intentions changing it or not. (or if there will even be a 420 sale, no confirmation yet, as other said)

Thanks for the info. I have to ask, how do we get confirmation? Is there a newsletter or something?

You can subscribe to the thread and subforum but honestly, it isn't all that accurate at times. It can take 30+ mins for some people to get an email saying there is a new thread or post made.

So really, it comes down to luck if it is a spur of the moment sale like this last sale.

But to be safe, click notify in that 4 grabs thread, and click notify on the clack factory subforum.

He didn't warn us about the April 1 4 grabs ahead of time though. So I can see a surprise sale happening again. I was lucky to be online and email immedietly , still didn't get one in Time,, would have to be a miracle to win I guess ..

For the last few sales (4/20/13, 4th of July, Fall EK), CC has given a lot of heads up. If there isn't an announcement by now, I don't think there's going to be a 4/20 sale. I don't know why we're all so certain it's coming. It's just a rumor as far as I'm concerned, *NOT* official.

He only announced it in one area, that never actually gets bumped, and thus no notifications, so it was hard to see

I missed it too at first

Will there be more info on how to buy them as the sale comes closer?

Normally a few days before there will be a post in the 4grabs thread with instructions on how to submit your interest and sometimes photos will be shown as well. Normally items are numbered and there will be an email address listed right before the sale and you will simply follow the instructions given and send an email at the given time for the items you want. The rest is up to fate.
