Alternative caps for Ducky DK9008 Shine 2
« on: Mon, 03 December 2012, 00:34:12 »
Hello everyone,

I am spent the last hour or so looking around for some alternative caps for my new DK9008 Shine 2 (Cherry MX Browns) which have a little more texture as I am finding that the smoothness of the caps are causing my fingers to slip.

Looking at tiger Imports they have the PBT cap sets available for purchase which seem to be textured rather than smooth however I will loose the keylighting obviously as the letters are not transparent?

Thanks in advance for any help.

There are very few full sets of keycaps available that will show backlighting.  A few novelty caps is about all I have found so far, although there are hints that some of the keycap manufacturers are gearing up to produce suitably transparent sets.

Will these suit a Ducky Shine version 1?

I only ask because in the pic F9 is CM2, F10 is backlighting, and F11/12 are brightness down/up, and this does not macth mine.  On a Shine version 1 F9 is lighting on/off, and F10/11 are brightness down/up.

Based on the CM2, I would guess these are designed fro Shine II - are there any other differences between Shine 1 and Shine II?

Being sold over here now.

Didn't even know that!  Thanks.  I'll be ordering a set.  I definitely want the gray keycaps if they get those in.

They're all up, as far as I saw. I linked to those, but look around and find the others.
