Know any brands outside of RealForce / PFU using Topre?  EKB has exclusive agreements with both, so we can't get any.  However, if there's another brand out there using the Topre switches, I'd be happy to look into it :)

utron is the only one I know of. I don't know of any ANSI ones at all. I'm no topre expect, though.

I mean EDIUS/GRASS VALLEY keyboard uses topre switches, but I don't think they sell their keyboards direct.

CCnG was actually the second run. The first was done by korean group and had icky legends (IMO, some people like them).

there are plenty of things out there you just have to network and camp the classifieds.

The legends with the very long arrow on the Enter key is a little strange to me.  I'll keep an eye out.  this is my second favorite look.  My first is Red Alert, which I acquired from three different people in classifieds at great expense.

fake alert or OG red alert?

you know rag's red alert was a redo like CCnG? the original has some really cool legends that cost them an arm and a leg.

I actually prefer the fake alert with the more traditional legends.  Seems a tiny bit classier to me :)

I'm looking for the Leopold TKL White Keyboard [FC700R] with Cherry MX Blue switches. It seems like there aren't many websites that carry them/have them in stock. The ones that do have them in stock don't ship to the US. It'd be awesome if you guys could start carrying the Leopold keyboards.

I feel the same way. I would love to get one of the FC700 with brown switches but they are taking forever to get rid of current stock. I might just give up on it and order something from shaker instead.

Do they even make sets for these? It would be nice since they have those odd shaped keys on the right side.

actually, after looking a the key sizing, the only read oddball keys are the "R5" keys, which i'd have no problem sing R4 in.  Unless im mistaken, all the other mod/shift/caps/tab/backspace keys are your usual size, unless the spacebar is smaller...

You also have to specify you want the black, because the beige is in stock for that combination.  Unfortunately I think keyboardco is the only distributor in the US.  Did you check their UK site?

I definitely would like to get the new Ducky DK9008 G2 PRO with the Green Cherry MX switches!  According to their Facebook page, it's only available in Taiwan in November with limited quantities.  It doesn't say if they'll be shipping any here to the U.S.

OT:

Metalliqaz,

Is that keyboard painful to look at in fluorescent lights?  Do you have a Gigabyte Sniper motherboard to match?

Regardless. that is a serious commitment to the color green!  Impressive!

Heh, well I don't have fluorescent lights, but no.  The brightness of the green is enhanced by the camera flash in that photo.  It's just a high-contrast color to go with the black case.  I would also like to see it with the bright orange, the white, and the cherry blossom, but I'm not about to pay for all that!

FYI:  Ducky's Facebook page announced that they are taking pre-orders for the new 9008 Pro 2 both 104 and 87 key version with the new Green MX and variable MX boards.  According to the translation I read, they are doing the pre-orders because of limited interest in the boards.  I definitely am in to purchase a full size Green MX keyboard if you can get some!

I second this notion like the fist of the north star, except I'm more interested in the TKL version, still ridiculously excited to see MX Greens out in the wild though. Oh and hey while you're at it ask Ducky for some more stock of their TKL MX Blue boards, I'll buy that right now :p

AFAIK, whites (aka "milks") are basically a different color of MX Green. Same actuation force. Although I don't know anyone who has done a side by side comparison yet, there is a lot of debate whether the stem of a mx white is different than that of a green.

I did a side-by-side comparison and posted pictures ages ago. Here's a link to the photos on my photobucket account. I knew buying a full set of whites and a full set of greens was a good idea. Whites feel and actuate almost exactly the same (maybe 5g different at MOST), but are much quieter. They look very similar.

Not even the Keyboard Company (the supplier of Filco keyboards in the US) can get them.  There is a Cherry Brown switch shortage right now.

I just bought one from them.  Their website currently says "lots in stock".  Took about three or four business days from the UK to California.

Any possibility of getting Filco Majestouch 2 with Cherry Browns?

Not even the Keyboard Company (the supplier of Filco keyboards in the US) can get them.  There is a Cherry Brown switch shortage right now.

I just bought one from them.  Their website currently says "lots in stock".  Took about three or four business days from the UK to California.

I've checked their site and have seen them have them in stock, but its a bit pricey to get it imported from the UK. I've been checking Amazon regularly, but they don't seem to have had any in stock for a while so I'm hoping some of the other mechanical keyboard e-retailers are able to get some.

Using PayPal's exchange rate on Nov 24, the total for a £100.00 GBP purchase totaled $189.24 USD.  Not cheap,

FYI, Keyboardco stocks their Amazon store directly from China.  Thus the two inventories are separate, and Amazon sold out of popular items in a day or three after the last shipment arrived.

Keep an eye on the Classifieds.  I bought my first Filco MJ Tactile (Brown) that way, and was totally satisfied with the purchase.

Good luck!

I like keyboards and case modding.  Everything about a computer should be silent -- except the KEYBOARD!
