[IC] SA Crimson Wither Base + Artisanal + Deskmat by Captus Keycaps

[CaptusKeys]

Mimicking the symbiosis of flesh and bone, the base set is sure to give you shivers. 
We set out a goal to manufacture each keycap with a unique gradient accomplished via thermal sublimation of PBT plastic.
Inspired by various aesthetics, the set was designed to be something that hasn't been done before.
The release features two sets: A base set with ANSI, ISO, numpad, extra spacebars, and a corresponding aluminum novelty keycap 
with a special electroplated gradient hue, which will also be available separately. We decided to go with the SA profile, as it's a smooth, 
robust, rounded profile, perfect for the vision of meshing gradients we set out for this release.

We are a small company composed of keyboard enthusiasts and folks who work in industrial design.

We use 5-side sublimation, we have talked with our specialist partner and they said it is possible to make!

This is a shame. These colors would be pretty nice if the gradient wasn't next to impossible to create.

What's with the font? I would much rather prefer ye olde SA font over this.

The base kit is too small. Look at any other base kit for the keys you should have at the very least. Good luck though, adding more keys would bring the price from 6 figures to 6 figures and 20 dollars.

How do you know it is impossible? This seems completely reasonable with the known capabilities of dye sub.

Maybe it's just me but all the key capo renders look pink on every screen I see it on, it's not really crimson red at all. Also would love the mods to be all colored, or have the base all white as it is along with a separate mods kit colored the pinkish hue.

This is an interesting idea, but the colour combi kinda hurts my eyes. Maybe this would be better if you tried to do the gradient in like a sunset kind of colour instead of neon on white.

anyway - would like to see some prototypes of these caps. people are doubting it, but if you pull it off I see nothing wrong with it. I don't have any comment on kitting, but visually it's a step up from many things that *dont* get bashed. The colors right now do feel kind of 'gross' and body-horror like, kind of reminds me of strained and bloodshot eyeballs (uncomfortable).

I guess a lot of people are bothered because you didn't pick color codes for color matching. I guess it's understandable, but if you're manufacturing it in-house I guess it might make the color-matching process doable even without references.

That being said, I'm not a huge fan of the colors. The gradient into the white makes the red look way too light to be called crimson; it almost looks pink. It sort of gives it an irritated skin type of feel. (Which would be cool if that was what you were going for, lol.)

Still looking forward to seeing the prototypes though, imagine all the possibilities if the gradient turns out to be feasible.
