Would SP ever consider making IBM barrels and pivot plates?
« on: Thu, 09 October 2014, 21:08:05 »
I recently had success converting an old IBM XT keyboard into a different key layout by moving the barrels and pivot plates around. As far as i know, this had never been done before (by anyone but IBM anyway). I plan on making kits available to folks that want to do this and I plan to design other layouts for folks that want that switch but with a different layout. The process now is for people to buy old IBM model F keyboards and take them apart for the barrels and pivot plates. It would be great if these parts were made available without sacrificing these great old keyboards.

Here are 3D models of these parts:

A word about the pivot plate - it needs to carry a capacitive charge. I believe that this is done by adding carbon black to the plastic.

So, my question is in this post title. What size order would make it a "yes"?
