"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

Europe is not a country.

I don't know. With the formation of the EU, that's at least on some level debatable. With so many (though not all) subject to so many of the same laws across multiple borders...

The laws you speak of are not mandatory across the EU. They are all (I think) voluntarily enforced by the governments of each of their own countries. The UK Home Secretary is trying to get out of the Human Rights stuff because of the issues she has had kicking people out of the country  :))

It's basically NATO but with trade and Schengen instead of guns and tanks.
Besides Schengen =/= EU

The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. I'm pretty sure the difference between two Europeans from different nations is in most cases much greater than the difference between someone from New York and a farmer from Texas :p .

There aren't that many European countries that speak the same languages, so it probably still goes :p .

Hell there's probably fewer differences between Americans and Canadians than between most different Europeans. Don't forget we've more or less ceaselessly been at war with each other for at least 2000 years, it tends to lead to a lot of cultural differences :p .

The major difference between Canada and America I would think is crime rate. Like how one day of Jacksonville homicides is equal to one year of Toronto homicides. I can see where you're coming from about the differences between the states vs. the differences between the countries of Europe though. Sometimes I wonder if certain people in America suffer from ADHD simply because they don't have to speak more than one language :(

HAHAH! Some of this stuff makes me proud...some not so much. I do like the right to bear arms though!

So many negative connotations. Part of being American is the ability to complain incessantly I suppose. Also huge tits, microbrews, giant gas hungry powerhouse engines, and all our contributions to free media. We also produce some kick ass video games. Started the indy developer movement. We are however lacking in healthcare and higher education support. Just had to play devils advocate, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else (mostly because of the gaming industry opportunities at my doorstep.)

I don't think you get it. When someone says they are "proud to be an American", they are insinuating that America is better than other countries. This is snobbery and arrogance, and is what people have problems with (and hence, the mockery and sarcasm). America has accomplished a lot (I was born a raised here in Los Angeles), no doubt about that. But to imply that Americans are inherently "better" than others, or that the country "America" is better than others, because of that, is a bit silly, and unfair.

but they are...

my mom and dad didn't emigrate to horrible italy(one of the axis powers of evil btw) nor did they goto "I give up" france, even tho they were HK citizens and can goto the rainy island that has nothing good besides fish n' chips or could have gone to any of the associated provinces (or whatever they are) like convict land australia or the country that is almost as good as america but not quite,

plus like we've seen in this thread, only good old glory looks good as a swimsuit, the japanese flag on a woman just looks like a stained bedsheet.

'merica!

- blacks and child prostitutes were sent from england to american's to be worked to death, literally. the blacks had to be bought so were looked after, but the ex-prisoners were actually worked to death - 'murica.
- america was built with slave labour on stolen land - 'murica.
- america was already discovered, when it was "discovered" - 'murica.
- 'horrible' italians have an extended lifespan due to sun, lifestyle and diet, is home to some of the most beautiful women in the world, and offers fashion the american's can only copy. oh, and a ****-ton of horrible axis italians moved to america for the hell of it.
- "or could have gone to any of the associated provinces (or whatever they are)" - sounds like a great educational system!
- the imperial system is derived from medieval English Kings, and later became the measurement system adopted by the British Empire colonies which Murica still use today. Thanks for keeping our flag going strong and reminding the world who owned you in the past, and really, still owns you today!

'MURICA!

The vast majority of European countries are socialist, and don't like outsiders tainting their genes. It isn't that they're unfriendly to them, just socialist. That's why people from Spain look Spanish, people from France look French, Germans look German etc etc.. And it's refreshing to see that every single foreigner I knew at uni, and when I lived in Berlin were very candid and not afraid to give their opinions of 'outsiders'.

"Wtf is going on in this thread."

America bashing. Basically, tons of folks who have lived under our protection and received our financial aid are busy insulting and criticizing and biting the hand that has fed them since the Marshall Plan.

- blacks and child prostitutes were sent from england to american's to be worked to death, literally. the blacks had to be bought so were looked after, but the ex-prisoners were actually worked to death - 'murica.

Sent by Great Britain, often aboard English-flagged ships flying the Red Ensign. Remember, even colonial "American" ships were actually flying the English flag, so... And, if you think that the average slave was, "looked after," you're seriously out of touch with history.

- america was built with slave labour on stolen land - 'murica.

Slaves imported under the laws of and with the approval of the English Crown and Parliament. Oh, and who did the Anglo-Saxons steal England from? Pot, kettle calling.

- america was already discovered, when it was "discovered" - 'murica.

Actually, North America was probably fairly well known during Phoenician times and is probably not named for Amerigo Vespucci, but for La Merika, a western star used for maritime navigation. That is an issue is seriously disputed by academics, but there probably is a kernel of truth in there someplace. Why would we name an entire region after a relatively obscure Italian mapmaker's first name? Heck, the Basques were fishing the Grand Banks long before Columbus, Hudson, or any other noted explorer got there.

**** yeah!

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

When I was in Arizona I bought this t-shirt basically covered in eagles, flags, stars and blue, red and white. Worst thing is, about 1 in 5 or so people were wearing something similar to it xD .

Aw c'mon, we know the moon is really a hologram!

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

All right-thinking logical individuals know or will soon become aware that the Moon is a flat, translucent artificial light embedded in the Earth's over-arching dome material. Do some research ffs.

America is the greatest nation on Disc-earth.

Wtf is going on in this thread.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

This country gets more and more ****ed up by the day. I want to move to NZ in a few years though, so I'll just hold out hope that we don't end up in a nuclear war before then.
I proxy anything including keyboards (キーボード / 鍵盤), from both Japan (日本) and China (中國). For more information, you may visit my dedicated webpage here: https://www.keyboards.es/proxying.html

The upside of all the euro weirdos on here... is my mid-sized truck can inspire the sort blah blah why you need such a truck comments that you would never hear from Americans .... the secret to happy truck owning.. SHORT BED.. then you don't have to help anyone do anything.  It is the "I'm only here to supervise" of truck formats..

also do note this is a smaller truck here in America where many people have full sized pickups.. I get 25~mpg highway (20mpg combined)  with this truck.. so shut it with any: why do you have this big truck blah blah nonsense.. probably better mileage than anyone with a BMW or whatever.

merica'  (also I'm a bit Croatian in ancestry so my truck is sportin' a Croatian Flag for the World Cup proceedings..  On to the Final GO CROATIA!!!)
