Hey, I'm designing a new case based on the Model M SSK.
I'm not trying to exactly recreate the original shell as of now, but I want to get somewhat close.
The idea is that I can fold over a 101 key M's membrane and be left with an SSK at a fraction of the cost.
Also, I'm in the early stages (I have drawings of the bottom half of the shell complete), and I'm wondering if anyone has the gerber files for the F SSK PCB.
Apparently, they originally were
here, but I can't find the dang things anywhere now! I have a 3178 87-key board I can use for springs/flippers and take this to the next level, while still staying compatible with membrane SSK adaptations so others can still use the case models.
I'm heading out for a moment, but here's a little bit slice of life of my desk right now so you get an idea. I mostly hang out on the Geekhack and deskthority IRC channels, so that's the fastest place to reach me, but I'll try to keep you posted here.
I'll upload the models as I get done digitizing them!
