I took over someone else's place in this buy. When I didn't receive a tracking number I contacted them and they told me that they sent the keyboard to the other guy and that they should try to fix it. Now they wont answer my PM's.

Has anyone gotten backlight working? Does this support it? it has leds and I tried putting some in to see if it works... not sure if i need to activate it via key press or what not.

Edit: got it working with bootmapper, anyone have the matrix layout or a way to put qmk onto it

There's a port of QMK to PS2avrGB PCBs here. I have no idea how well it works or how many changes need to be made to support the Exent, but I'll try it out when mine arrives.

Is there a way you can contact the original buyer and work something out directly? I think that would be much faster than using Yuktsi or Juahenza as a middle-man.

Thanks mate. I’m trying to do a bunch of layout stuff but super confused with how bootmapper works. Lmk how you go, might give it a try before I lock down the solder :)

QMK is cool when it works, but it's kicked my -ss so many times I'm almost tired of it. I need to desolder one of my boards and use an ISP programmer to reflash the bootloader because something randomly got corrupted.

Which board? A TADA68 or one of the BootMapper boards?

A 32u4 based board should be immune to bootloader problems, except for the TADA68 because of the terrible decision to use the Mass Storage bootloader. It's 6kb, and the max protected bootloader size is 4kb, so part hangs over into program space.

A UK78, which uses an at90usb1286. Every time I try to flash a new hex the memory is supposedly cleared successfully, but when it checks it's never actually clear. I've been able to flash a hex but the board randomly disconnects from my PC.

Tried the force erase?

Dfu-programmer at90usb1286 erase -f

Since it's a bit off-topic we can continue in PMs if you'd like, but in short yep. I've tried to force on both Windows and Linux (with some sudo added for good measure) and no luck.

PayPal receipt would be updated with the tracking number.

If you figure out how to actually track the package with it, let us know.

Juahenza was supposed to update us on the status of the aluminum bottoms themselves on January 3rd or 4th, but he hasn't posted anything. I'm guessing things are being worked on behind the scenes and nobody is providing updates. Hopefully we'll get some news soon.

As far as I know, the anodizing is still in progress for both black and silver. But it's close to completion.

Right on cue with another delay.

By the way jua said his last update it'd seem like the bottoms were finished already, as he said he was collecting them.

Thanks for the update though, yuktsi. I would like to request another updated timeline for the ones with alu bottoms, if at all possible. :)

Thanks again, hopefully fulfillment will be finished soon.

I'm not familiar with hotlites, they are what allow switches to be hotswappable right? What defines whether or not they can be used?

the size and shape of the holes in the PCB, usually

If the hole is too large, could we apply some solder and make it fit?

Mine did that too, until it was actually in the shipper's possession.  You may have a waybill number but that doesn't mean much.  Good chance the GB crew hasn't turned it over to the shipper yet.

I was curious about this as well.  I have a tracking number but it never updates with any information.  That was almost two weeks ago so I'm confused as to when it will be dropped off to the shipper any info on that would be swell.

How exactly are they going to place an order for replacements when 0 premium kits have shipped?  Therefore they don't even know how many they will need..

Typically stuff like this is handled at the end of the GB.  The runners will collect all the info they need for replacements and such, then submit a replacement order with whichever manufacturer is required.

I would assume that this would be handled similarly, but it wouldn't hurt for a GB runner to confirm in the thread how replacements will be handled.

It's been a couple weeks. Is there a status update on replacement polycarbonate bottoms? I hope at least that the order has been put into the manufacturer.

Just in case you didn't know, cody is not actually one of the GB runners, he's just helping them. As far as I'm aware, none of the GB runners themselves have really commented on the issue. Don't get me wrong, cody has been helpful in keeping people informed, but let's not act like that's a suitable replacement for actual direct communication from one of the people actually responsible for the GB.

Can we get any information for people with tracking that still shows nothing when tracked?

Apparently they are busy, and he volunteered to take that on for them.  Which is the reason that he said when he can get back and get in touch with them, there will be more communication.

As long as somebody's communicating, and the information is accurate, I couldn't give a **** who's doing the actual posting.
