oh, well yeah that's just personal preference there. i love the tucked look like the mazda. not a huge fan of the crazy camber though. but yeah, diff strokes for diff folks.

i still don't understand your statement. are you asking if the car can go higher? yes, how high depends on the set up/height limitations. a lower car != stance. the springs im getting will lower my car about 1", still not close to stance and from what i've seen, the car will ride a lot better.

never seen slammed cars with ridiculous camber?

Show Image

and yes, i've seen a couple of cars on the highway driving that low and with that much camber. is it safe? doubt it.

What springs are you going with?

Bagged cars may look nice but then I get sad because I remember that you can't actually use it as a car anymore. :))
My c5 allroad had bags. Bone stock.

Seeing so many bagged VW, I'm thinking that I'm going to end up with them on my future tdi (debating either sportwagen or golf hatch).  It seems like the best way to get exactly the drop I want.

Mmmm. I need me one of those thule wind deflectors.

Finally finished. Took me far longer than it should, but we got here. Stain fully dried, all bolted on. Had to redrill some of the holes for whatever reason, but it's all good.

Bought myself a load of brackets for extra tie-down-ability

Decided to go with them long ways instead of side ways because the rings ended up hanging slightly over if I had them sideways. Also having 10 meant I had to put them asymmetrically. And only having access to a croded drill with no gearing meant I came very close to ruining the wood with every screw as the resistance of them going in didn't stop the drill turning

Here she is mounted!

In two minds about the crate being on there 24/7. I'm going to add a jerry can, ammo box and a wheel from a friend when I get my hands on them though.

Thanks man, it's taken a long old time to get it like that, and I'm pretty proud of everything me, my friend and gf have done on it.

It's forcing me to cruise now as well, so I'm no longer driving at 80/85mph to and from work stuck in the outside lane, I'm just rolling along at 60/65 in the inside lane, just chilling. Makes it a lot more enjoyable and I actually get to work at the same time hah.

What is there to think a about?  Just do it!  Make sure that the car has no cooling issues (very common - and expensive to repair).  Other than that, just the obvious  no crashes, etc...

Also, the supercharges ones are a riot to drive, but the normal one with a few tasteful mods are still quite good.

Tasteful?

I'd much rather have a stock one.

If the brakes haven't been upgraded, I'd do that, but otherwise keep it basically stock. They're light and quick and have an AWESOME gearbox. With modern tires and brakes, stock everything else, the handling is sublime. Fantastic little cars.

I've got my eye on an MX-5 NA with the removable hardtop.... Always wanted one.

Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

Getting excited to hopefully be able to drive my mk1 rabbit convertible in a few weeks. Needs a little injector work then it should be good to go!

It's been over a year since I bought it for 150 bucks out of a barn. Been a slooooww process.

Soooooooo. Who's spun out once on the road?
I know I have. Today that is.
I forgot what street, but it had somewhat new asphalt laid down. It just started raining, I was at the light, I begin to go, mid turn I felt the rear get light, and the front felt really light too. Cranked wheel to the right, let off throttle, too late. Was alright facing the street I came off of. I was still going about 20mph I threw it into neutral and was lucky that I stopped...
Sometimes I still drive like I'm in a 4,000lb wagon with awd... Lesson learned.
