This review was really a criticism of the red switches, which many people like.  All I really got out of that was that you're not into reds. It's like criticizing a comedy movie for not being an action movie.

On another note, I appreciate knowing the Steelseries has built solid keyboards.

I don't think keycaps are pad-printed, mine actually has lasered&filled keycaps, but they're still ****ty. It's a pity you forgot to mention the weird, non-standard layout—and the Fn key instead of the left Win/Meta.

How do you feel about the Cherry MX Blacks compared to other mechanical keyboards?  Heavier or lighter, anything different?

A tad lighter IMHO vs blacks I had a few years back.

I vouch for MX Blacks. They feel really solid and although they take the most force to push, you won't be making as many twitch mistakes when playing games. I also program with them at home at times and I don't encounter any finger fatigue.

Sorry for the late response.  I either like my switches as very firm, very light, smooth linear, or VERY tactile.  Blacks aren't terrible, and neither are reds.  They just aren't for everyone.

At work I type on tactile alps, blacks, and blues.
At home I type on blacks and reds.

With respect to these keyboards I still have found the MX black version of the 6Gv2 to be the better typing/gaming experience.
