I did some more research, and the plastic used is nearly identical to shapeways'.  I also started experimenting with the SLS printer we have to make a resin cap.

I actually opened up an online store, but I remember reading somewhere something about a post limit before advertising sales.  I don't really have high hopes for these caps, because to me its a fun exercise of my skills and a way to improve my CAD abilities.

Most artisans didn't start out wanting to get rich. But I see lots of potential here, since you can make these multicoloured caps what people will pay $35 for but which probably costs $2 or less in materials. I think it's good for everyone to have more supply because only then will prices start coming down.

I never really saw it that way, but yeah you're right. I think a lot of money could be made with ALPS or Topre versions as well.

Maybe try colors that would match well with keysets, maybe something hyperfuse or RA

Hyperfuse would be really nice with the blue and purple. I'll try that next and post the results.

I've started taking custom orders on my site here: http://xx7keycaps.bigcartel.com

Although there isn't any order form, you can order any cap and leave a note in checkout of what you'd like for colours. Each keycap will be one of a kind.

I requested a custom key to match my Miami set. I think I should also mention that the key will be on the top row.

This is neat!

Would you please consider making keys in Cherry profile? If you could get a reference keyset, the bottom row (R4) and top row (R1) would be quite nice to have!

Just thought I'd mention it, since some of us are really big on matching the profile, and it'd be awesome to have a choice between profiles!

Got my Pink/green megatron today! It's my first artisan keycap on my new QFR :D

While the packaging was quite cool, it got super squashed in the international post. I ended up having to extract old Megatron by removing shards of the broken glass, as the whole lid was crushed on one side. Luckily he seemed to be unscathed.

That sounds nice. So those who enter the GB will choose which style and color they want? Or will they be made before-hand?

Yeah they'll choose out of the options I give with either DSA or OEM profile for topre or MX. Obviously the megatrqn won't have that option.

So how much are we talking per cap? I imagine they will be cheaper than usual being in the GB?

I think I'll have 8 options, two megatrqn and two blanks for MX and topre

That sounds nice. So those who enter the GB will choose which style and color they want? Or will they be made before-hand?
Yeah they'll choose out of the options I give with either DSA or OEM profile for topre or MX. Obviously the megatrqn won't have that option.

So how much are we talking per cap? I imagine they will be cheaper than usual being in the GB?

$12@20, $10@50, and $7@100.
Shipping would be around $8 CONUS
